We settled into Eagle View RV Resort at the end of November and quickly realized this was more than just a place to park, it was exactly where we needed to be. Set on the Yavapai Nation Reservation just off SR87, the location places you right at the edge of something special, where the land meets the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and stretches into the wild openness of the Tonto National Forest. For someone drawn to nature and photography, this place is hard to beat. Access to the desert landscapes and the riparian zones along the Verde River and Salt River is quick and easy, and the presence of wild horses adds something you simply cannot replicate. There were times they wandered close enough to camp to remind you that you are sharing this space, not just visiting it. The resort itself is quiet and well kept, attracting a more mature crowd, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The atmosphere here leans toward peaceful rather than busy, and that suited us perfectly. Manager Derrick clearly knows what he’s doing and handles things with confidence, especially when it comes to the realities of desert living and the occasional critter that comes with it. There’s open desert just across the road where you can stretch your legs and explore, within reason, and still feel connected to the surrounding landscape. Back at the resort, the amenities are solid. A free breakfast each morning in the common area, computers available if you need internet access or printing, and a pool and hot tub that are consistently maintained, with daily cleanings even on weekends. The laundry facilities stood out as well, industrial machines that handle larger loads with ease. At $3.75 a wash and with hot, high-capacity gas dryers, it made it simple to take care of bigger items like blankets and comforters without hassle. Evenings bring a balance that is hard to find. The main roads are well lit for safety, yet the night sky still opens up with a full display of stars. To the west, Red Mountain rises with presence, and to the east, the distant silhouette of Four Peaks catches the light at sunrise and sunset in a way that never gets old. You’re just minutes from Bush Highway and the Salt River, where kayaking becomes an option when the dam releases raise the water levels. Saguaro Lake is nearby as well, drawing visitors to its scenic waters, and for a change of pace, We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort sits just across the highway with great food and entertainment. We spent months here, from November through May, enjoying steady weather in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, a welcome escape from harsher seasons elsewhere. This place gave us exactly what we were looking for, access to nature, quiet surroundings, and a sense of being grounded in the landscape. We will be back in December without hesitation. Very happy with our stay at Eagle View RV Resort at Fort McDowell. We were here during the winter for four nights. Large RV sites, all back-in. Beautiful surroundings, hills skies. Some others have commented how it is HOT here in the summer - yes indeed. There are few trees so if you are coming in hotter months do try to ask the desk for help with a site with a tree (though the trees are not that big) or at least a site where here seating/outdoor area has norther exposure. Very clean facilities including public showers/restrooms and laundry facilities. There's a nice pool and jacuzzi, gym and they serve free breakfast each morning. Lots of high-end rigs this time of year. Along with off-roading vehicles. While this place is not technically what I would call "glamping" the rigs here give that impression. Most people we have met here are snowbirds traveling across the south during this time of year. Location is very convenient. A mile away from the casino, 3 miles away from beautiful Fountain Hills and about 10 miles away from Scottsdale which has everything you could ever want. And did we mention the wild Salt River mustangs? I'm told they come up to the camp from time to time (which we did not see) however their known watering holes are just a short drive away.

I thought this was a wonderful place for our 1st camping trip with our new RV. I loved the spot we got & it had beautiful views. I am definitely coming back here.

Eagle View RV Resort is very nice. The area is beautiful and the resort is very clean. We had a back in site and it was really easy to get set up.

(Update 9/25/25: most of the asphalt had been resealed, so much nicer now!) Great staff, good size sites. Only complaints are that the asphalt is crumbling and hard for my older dog to walk on it. And lots of thorns in her paws. Free ranging cows and wild horses visit regularly. And coyotes.
