Loved this campground! Great place for the kids to explore and beautiful hike to the potholes not to far away. The camp host Hobie was also amazing and very approachable and made everyone feel welcomed. Hope to see him again next season.

This is a little gem! It’s peaceful and beautiful. Great place to visit with the entire family. The camp hosts were the best. Hobie was very friendly and personable and took a lot of pride in the campground. Darrell, the other camp host, was also great. So much fun to talk to and to listen to his stories. Both hosts wanted to make sure we had a great experience. We definitely will come back. Thank you, Roseann

Well we made it! 3 nights with our three young grandchildren and we survived! Great time paddle boarding, kayaking, “fishing”, and smoreing. Great campsite and complimented by the super friendly Camp Host Ranger, Hobie. He made us and our grandchildren feel very welcomed. They loved him and his inspiring morning camp cheers! We will course be going back!

Love this campground! For many many years we camped yearly at Plasses, but no more it has gone downhill since the Plasses family sold out. Silver Lake east is very accessible and the rv spaces are easy access and paved and level. Clean volt toilets and water facets. The park is clean with fire rings, bbq grill and vault garbage containers. The hosts are great, Friendly and helpful. Nice quiet and close access to the lake. We've been coming every year for 5 years. The camping fees are very reasonable and can use your senior discount with your California Parks pass. Hard to reserve sometimes but We've also got a in by checking frequently or go up during first come first served dates. Highly recommend this campground. We'll be back in August 26!

We had such a wonderful stay! Our camp host, Hobie, was amazing—friendly, hilarious, and made us feel right at home. We were lucky to snag a spot on the last weekend the campground was open, and it couldn’t have been a better experience. Grizzly and Luna (our two pups) had the best time exploring, and we loved how quiet, clean, and family-friendly the site was. The bathrooms were honestly the cleanest I’ve ever seen at a campground! We highly recommend this spot and can’t wait to come back next year.

What a great campground, made even more enjoyable by the fantastic friendly informative host, Hobie 😍. Our group really enjoyed staying there for the very last weekend of the 2025 camping season. Hope Hobie is there when we come back again! Fingers crossed water becomes available for 2026.

Incredible campground, with great places, good sanitation, and very nice and fun hosts. Super close to some beautiful areas and on a walking distance to some natural pitholes and the Silver Lake. I came for bouldering specifically, and it's within ~30 minutes of driving from some of the best bouldering you can do around Lake Tahoe. Highly recommend staying here.

Best campground hosts! Hobie was friendly and welcoming right off the bat. Would highly recommend this place. It is the cutest campground with great lake and trail access.

Campground was very well kept and the other campers were super nice and helpful! But the real treasure is what’s around beautiful scenery, hikes near the campground were amazing and the lake was refreshing. I would definitely come again!

Great Camping. Spacious spots. We fit two 4-6 person tents and could've put 1 more. No BBQ,s as there is grill over the pit. The bathroom was not too far from us. Host was very nice. Kept the bathrooms clean plus loved his dog. Went early October and had some rain it was Chilly but so beautiful. Finally able to camp there and now my Favorite Campground in the El Dorado National Forrest. Never camped on the HW. 88 side. I usually take a weekly fishing trip there as I don't live far away.

This was my first real camping experience lol. Don’t judge me 🫣. The Host was so nice. He had a really nice dog and I am saying this because I am not always friends with dogs and yes, that was the first dog I ever touched or played with. The camp was so cool and the only disadvantage for me was the bathrooms. I hope sometime, they have better bathrooms in the future. We were so lucky it wasn’t all smoky on Saturday and we took awesome pictures.

Silver Lake East national campground had just opened a few days before our June 28th camping trip. They have both reservable and first come first served spaces. There are three or four loops in the east campground. Is it just recently rained and the flowers and the smells were quite delightful. The campground was dry as they were repairing several leaks in the water system. The toilet facilities were still open and not affected by the lack of water. You may find it easier to get a reservation here. Silver Lake is a beautiful lake! It was very high this year with the recent rain. The campground is contiguous to kit Carson resort. We hiked the pothole'd hike downstream from the reservoir. Absolutely beautiful! You'll want to take that hike. It's not demanding. Although it does take you through a. Section of last year's Caldor Fire.

Beautiful place. I’m pretty sure I seen a wolf roaming around that campground in the off season this year. I’ve seen a lot of coyotes in my life but I’m pretty certain it was a wolf. It was larger and lighter in color overall than most coyotes I’ve ever seen. Silver Lake is one of the most beautiful places on the planet.
