I stayed here for the night. We did primitive camping, which costs $15/night. We stayed right on the beach. It was was quiet and peaceful and beautiful. I’d definitely stay there again. They also had full hookup camping, I think the price was $35/night, but I’m not 100% sure.

Water level is low but we were able to paddle board and enjoy the afternoon. You are able to borrow a life jacket for the day at the entrance. 10.00 fee if you are not a N.M resident

Very unique state park on a reservoir. Nice park, clean bathrooms, just not the type of environment we enjoy. Very little trees, lots of wind in the afternoon, hot in May. Cute small towns near by. Sites are pretty big. If you like very dry weather and environments, you will like this campground. Very peaceful.

Elephant Butte is surrounded by picturesque views of mountains. Multiple inlets offer exploration on and off land. Unfortunately, the water continues to recede but still allows for boating activities.
