This is a new County park and the designers of this RV park clearly had their act together. The driveways are wide which makes big rig navigation easy . The sites are level concrete pads and all are back-in. There is even a beach area on the river. However we did not get to see or use it. Utility are well laid out. Water pressure very good so make sure you use your water regulator. We will definitely stay here again. They have a very modern Laundry and Rest Room area - with free washing.

I took my service dog here to run the trails because there’s never anyone there and we like the solitude. Some workers were there and saw me with my dog. I have a lead on my service animal just in case, but he is always under my verbal command. He has been trained very well and is very smart. He knows when there is no one around us at all, he is allowed a little more distance away from me. Nothing crazy, and nothing more than 7-10 feet. He is always 1-2 ft next to me when there are people around. Always. Very well behaved. When I got close to the workers, they said hello to him directly, so I let him run ahead 7 or 8 feet to say hello to them. (He knows he has to be invited first and one of the workers tapped his leg like he was calling him over) I love to share him with people because it typically makes their day, and his too because he loves everybody. So it’s a win win. This was my mistake as I assumed the entire “crew” wanted to greet him. A young lady quietly said (even after she pet him too) that I needed to hold onto him or have him in a 6ft leash. I looked around at the completely empty park, before I kindly reminded her that there was nobody there, but also stated to her that he was under my full control and she had nothing to worry about. She just replied with “That’s our policy. You need a 6ft leash.” The absurdity of the moment had me just walking away from her. My animal was well behaved and wasn’t bothering anyone, there wasn’t even anyone there for him to be able to bother anyways. So I went to finish my run with my dog. When we got back around the 2nd time, I noticed they had called the cops. There was a squad car parked there and another one pulling in! An officer blocked my path as we were running and stopped me on the trail. He told me that I had to hold onto my dog…..who was running RIGHT NEXT TO ME the whole time not bothering anyone and under my full control. Being forced to stop my exercise due to the harassment, I let the officer know that he was my service animal and that he was 100% under my control. Which is 100% legal. I was never asked if he was my service animal to begin with from the staff. My car (and the police cars) were the only cars in the entire lot. Completely empty park. So they created a situation, and then escalated their own perceived situation by calling the local authorities to further harass me. They really thought it was a good idea to call the police to harass a woman just trying to run with her well behaved service animal. Now I know why there is never anyone at this park. I mean, if this is the way they treat people minding their business and just trying to exercise, then who would want to go there? We sure won’t be going back.

We definitely will be returning, soon! The hosts are wonderful and even give a full page of local food/shopping/gas and hardware places. Everything is exceptionally clean and the sites are double wide ! This is a very safe, gated, RV park. We loved it. Steve, Barbara Young and fur baby Sam

We spent several days this Thanksgiving at the park. Would recommend this place as a top notch area for peaceful camping. By far one of the cleanest, well organized and amazing River area , playground and campsites for county owned facilities. Gave the 5 Stars but deserved 10.

Terrific park. Overnight area separate from day use and gated. Excellent facilities. Bathrooms and laundry extraordinarily clean and grounds very well kept. Really cute playground. Staff friendly and helpful. Little bit of road noise but not bad. I’d stay there again.

Outstanding RV campground. We stay at a lot of state and private campgrounds, this is by far the gold standard in terms of amenities, hotel like restrooms, spacious showers, including free laundry with state of the art washer and dryers. The children’s playground is impressive. Very good value and conveniently located just off the highway.

This park is absolutely beautiful, everything looks new. We stayed overnight while passing through and wish we had more time here. Bath houses are immaculate, playground is HUGE and my kids loved it. All the sites are super clean and large. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Is super safe, double gated. There is river access to swim but we weren't able to go this time. If we are ever passing through again we will come back!

My best friend and I took our boys here on Monday which was the first day of spring break. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was not pack out. I have always loved Escatawpa river and was so excited to learn about this new park. Although we didnt use the facilities they were right off the parking lot and close to everything. You do have a very short walk to the water so if you have a bunch of stuff you may want to bring a wagon. Only con- If you can look past the cussing mothers you are good! One mom slapped her son across the face while yelling at him in the middle of the river. However, we could have moved down the beach a little further and not heard any of it so just wanted to put that out there. There was a man who came through later in the afternoon picking up trash which was nice to see. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to go back! Oh and it's FREE!!

Excellent park for the kids. Would love to no dogs allowed in the playground to avoid dog poop. Some added shade to the picnic tables would be great while watching the kids.

RV site 8. Pristine full hookup campground with immaculate restroom, laundry and grounds. Attendants especially friendly and helpful. Didn't enter the river, but looks very inviting.

May be the nicest stay ever! At least for a county run campground. Very safe, very clean three years old. Bathrooms-showers TOP SHELF! Nicest employees you will ever meet ! Gated, coded bathrooms. Very nice , excellent large concrete pads !
