Faria Beach Park: RV Camping in Ventura, CA

I’ll start with CONS: You must bring your own firewood, quarters for shower and drinking water as the reviews I’ve read say the camp host will give you free firewood when you check in and that is not true. In addition look closely at this restaurant sign because the restaurant IS the camp store which is not a store it’s just to walk up window restaurant where you can get firewood, but there are no other amenities that a camp store would have. . If you come after or outside the restaurant hours, you cannot get firewood or Quarters for the shower which annoyed a lot of people in our campground who got there at or after the closing time of the restaurant and had no firewood or showers. The restaurant, itself, was great …good food and morning coffee.
This is also strictly dry camping, even if you have hook ups sites, so fill your freshwater tank ahead of time because they do not have faucets like stated on the website there are zero spigots.
Additionally, if you have a great spot right on the rocky edge, you will be next to neck with your neighbors and if they’re running generators, even worse. We had a family that had the Primo view spot on the north end of the campground, but sadly turned their generator on way before quiet hours were over so I feel bad for their neighbors.
Lastly, this is not a beach location. There is a rocky fortress and if you survive going down that, then you have to navigate over the piles of driftwood to get to a small sliver of sand that is only visible for two hours a day and then it turns into the ocean not safe for children or especially dogs going down to the beach. They will break their little legs.
PROS: We actually love this campsite and we love it relationship to the bike trail. It was a 15 minute bike ride to the Vons in Ventura and the Ventura pier all downhill from the campsite..
The actual beach of FARIA if you go out the driveway of our campground and turn right, it’s just down the hill on the right and there’s plenty of parking on both sides of the street. We just wrote our bikes there and locked them up to a street sign and it’s an easier seat for path down to the beach, especially by the stoplight there are actual And it’s a great beach.
The sunsets are unmatched at this campground and listening to the waves. All night is so soothing and spiritual.
The showers are clean and you get three minutes for 50 Cent. Just make sure Again to bring your quarters before you get to this campground because the chances of you catching the restaurant being open to get quarters is slim to nothing.. The showers are also combined as family showers so if you go in by yourself, especially if you’re female your advice to lock the door and lock everyone out until your shower is done since there are two showers. The max time whether you’re an individual or a family with a bunch of kids is 10 minutes and most of the time there will be people waiting outside.
The campground host really keep the campground clean, and are very nice.
there’s one campground site that really sucks and I feel bad for everyone that It’s right in the middle on the north end where everyone drives a loop around and I felt bad for the two parties. We saw a camp there because you’re in the middle of a fishbowl and everyone is staring at you or driving around you and if someone loses their brakes coming down the driveway, they will basically drive over your tent. also, you have everyone’s headlights in your eyes as they drive down the driveway and around you. They should really give that spot out for free… If you get stuck with that site, park your vehicle between you and the driveway in for protection. We had some great bike rides from our campground north and south on the bike trail and the scenery and the atmosphere are beautiful. We did not hear any loud music like with some campgrounds. It was very peaceful and the people there were very respectful..

Do not camp here with a tent! It's a nice location by the beach, but the ground is basically rock and it was impossible to stake down my tent. The sites are tiny and there is no privacy. Also, if you want to take a shower, be aware there is no change machine and you need to have your own quarters. I'm sure this is a nice spot with an RV but I ended up leaving and going to a hotel because it just didn't work with a tent.

I can only imagine the negative reviews come from locals wanting to keep tourists away. Noble and I have mad respect for the effort.

The sites are plenty spacious and the only "noise" is from crashing waves.

Unless you're driving one of those behemoth transformers and have to have every last slide and awning out, this place is paradise.

The staff is courteous and the cafe is super convenient. They do have a strict noon check-in so don't bother arriving early. Plenty of parking a couple miles away to kill time watching the ocean.

If you don't get a beach front spot, not worth it. I was in spot 5. All I can see is car tires and hear people's generators. I left a day early. Also it's nearly impossible to get a beach front spot. So sad.

Great place to hang and enjoy the beach. Nice little snack shack with a decent menu and cold craft beer.

Wonderful place to camp and enjoy the ocean! Camp sites are tight, as to be expected in such a popular location, but we fit our 30’ camping trailer and pickup into site 33 just fine. We were there during a full moon, so the waves were huge and even splashed over the rocks into our campsite, but that was part of the fun. Showers were clean and hot. Bathrooms were clean. I’d definitely camp here again.

Overpriced, noise competes with ocean waves; and no privacy! My two over neighbors decided to congregate right in front of my parking space - you cannot call it a campsite. This campground functions more like an RV parking facility than a traditional camping experience. Spaces are tight, privacy is minimal, and there is constant traffic noise throughout the night. Lights remain on after dark, and there are no campfires allowed anywhere in the park.
Because open flames are not permitted at all, the campground also enforces a strict no-smoking policy, even within personal vehicles. For campers looking for quiet, separation, darkness, or a more nature-centered experience, this may not be a good fit.
Bathrooms are available, showers appear to be paid separately, and there are picnic tables at each site. However, those seeking a traditional camping atmosphere with space, natural sound, or nighttime calm may want to look elsewhere.

It’s a great place to be right on the water with hook up camping for your trailer or RV. It was rainy, so the gravel was better than I expected it to be, but the rain does pool in some sites. Campsite pictures are from campsite # 22. There are also non-hook up RV/Tent campsites.

This is a really nice park, but there are only a few day use parking spots that go fast. Steps lead down to beach and end in loose rocks. The tide makes the beach seem very narrow between the water and wall near PCH. Restrooms are really clean and nice.

It's small, some dry camping, some full hook ups.  You can have a truck come out and drain your tanks and refill your fresh water.

Very nice beach park for camping. The campsites are very close together, but most ppl seemed to hang out inside their RVs, while we chose to sit outside and enjoy the view of the waves, birds and dolphins and have a bon fire. Beach is literally right over the rocks, there is also a staircase at the end to go down if you can't climb over the rocks. There is a small Cafe with great coffee and refills until they close at 3pm. They also have food options there if you don't feel like cooking. The restrooms are clean with flushing toilets and soap and water for hand washing. There is also a shower that takes quarters. We loved this place and will definitely come back here again.

Nice place to camp with great views and the sound of the waves drowns out road noise. But if you don’t pay for hookups you cannot fill your camper with water. They should let you know when you are choosing your site. This seems really lame to me since they have plenty of hose bibs. They expect you to fill water bottles, but my camper has a 25 gallon tank and a sink so that is not convenient. The camp host were also very unfriendly.

Great view of the beach. All campers were friendly. We setup a tent not knowing it was going to be high winds. We survived but plan ahead if you are tenting it.

Nice little hide away spot. Clean bathrooms. Clean & hot showers for $1.25. All campers were nice and friendly. Noise wasn't bad. Everyone having a good time, even at night.

I did not go to the campground, but parked above beach and was able to watch the surfer, dolphins jumping, fishermen on the shore, birds... Listen to the waves. It is always a joy to come here for some R&R time
