Would have been awesome minus the loud neighbors, generators, campers leaving bright lights on all night, and fireworks (labor day weekend). Water was a bit brown. Showers at the headquarters (3 or so miles) away were free and really nice. Lots of trails and forrest roads in the area.

Nice and quiet campground. Sites 1-4 are farther away and more secluded from the other sites. We were on site 1. It could fit two 10- person tents & still have lots of room. Mosquitos were really bad. Drenched in repellent and still didn't help. Beach area by campground not that great, but there's a beach area about 6 mins away, same lake and better beach.

Beautiful campground but arriving on a Sunday afternoon we thought we could find a spot for the night or maybe two. There is no cell service for miles and host said we had to drive another 4-5 miles to park office, (Which isn't open) to use the "yellow" phone even find out if there was a vacancy. We did get a spit for one night after paying for non Wisc. resident fee plus a one day car pass. Love Wisconsin camping but will stay away from state campgrounds from now on.

Worked well for me car camping. Nearby to hiking, river trips, fishing. Maybe rustic for some but just what I needed

The campground was very clean. Enjoyed it very much. The only thing was a young couple from MN would not keep their two dogs under control and on a leash. They were right beside our camp and we could hear both of their dogs fighting at all hours of the day and night. One of the dogs even came onto our campsite. Otherwise we had a lot of fun.

Rustic, private, quiet, beautiful! Be prepared for misquotes (heavily wooded) and no cell service although by vault toilet is booster antenna where you can pick up service. Also has nice sandy small swimming beach.

One of the most beautiful state campgrounds I’ve stayed in. It’s the true north woods experience. Large, wooded sites. Secluded from neighbors. Great beaches, fishing. It’s our yearly go to CG. Only 7 electric sites right now. They book up fast! There’s talk of adding more. Site 7 has a lake view with electric. Perfect

Love this place. Great escape to the Northwoods that is made even better with a boat. Plenty of campsites available and some offer great privacy.

Great camp ground. Fire pits are wonderful. Love the heavy duty grills that flip back off the fire and have adjustable height. Vault toilets were in a finished building so were almost as good as flushies. Bring bug spray because the mosquitoes are voracious. Also, lots of gravel in the spaces so bring a footprint or tarp for under your tent. I'd love to visit again.
