My husband & I stay here quite often. The campground is intimate, small, cozy…whatever you want to call it, we love it! The water view never disappoints. There’s a bar/restaurant across the river, The Wabegon. Friday night fish fry is awesome! Chambers Grove is a 5 minute walk under the bridge with a nice park for kids. You are 25 minutes from all of the amenities of Canal Park.

How do I put this… Absolutely great camp sites and location next to the river as well. Great balance between having nice amenities and also allowing for plenty of green/natural space. Would recommend to anybody looking for an approachable camp site for their trips. Everything you might need is right there.

Nice quiet campground 25min from Duluth. Very nice shower house. Well kept all around. Nice staff. Extra little touches like bag games, canoe rentals, game room with home made pinball. Water front sites. Very happy with our stay. 7/5-7/11/2025.

My wife, daughter and myself had a blast!!! The camp attendant (I forgot her name) was very very nice and always made sure everything was going good and that our needs were met. We did two tents and a big screen tent. Our original spot was to small and they had no problems with us switching to a bigger site. The fishing was actually pretty decent from the shore. Caught smallmouths, channel catfish, crappies, and rock bass. The views are pretty! Specially looking down through the canyon of the lower St Louis River area. The camp ground itself is pretty and very well kept. Only issue was some loud teenagers at the park across the street until early hrs of the morning. We will definitely be going back very soon. Thank you for having us!

Loved staying in the little cabin. There's only one outlet, but they do have a power strip in there as well as a fan and heater. Flush toliets and showers were very clean. Even the vault toliets were very clean, which isn't usually the case other places I've been. Our toddler loved that we were close to water, that there's a sandbox, and there's a great park across the street.

Fond du Lac Campground offers an excellent experience for nature lovers. The campground stands out for its great service—staff are friendly, accommodating, and make sure campers feel welcome. The location is ideal, nestled along the river, offering serene views and peaceful surroundings that provide a perfect escape into nature. The contact-less check-in and checkout process is smooth and easy, ensuring a hassle-free experience from start to finish. In terms of cleanliness, the campground maintains high standards, with well-kept facilities and clean. Whether it's the restrooms, campsites, or picnic areas, everything is well-maintained. The natural beauty of the area is wonderful, with plenty of privacy, riverside views, and opportunities for outdoor activities, making it an ideal spot for relaxation or adventure. We had a large group and rented 7 spots, 6 campsites and 1 RV site, all in the same area. The RV site was a back-up site with water and 30 amp hook-up, we had plenty of room to maneuver. The campground is small, cozy in fact, but there was enough space that we weren't bothered by other campers and we (hopefully) weren't a nuisance to other campers either. Quiet time starts at 10pm and everyone quieted down at that time. We were there for a 14 year-old golden birthday celebration, we played outdoor games, grilled ribs and steaks, and other meats, cooked up quite a fancy feast actually. We caught a huge catfish. Other campers brought their boats and kayaks, we could see them docked along the river. We saw people in kayaks all day long. A couple who had a boat told us they took their boat out to a sandbar and a swimming beach. Overall, highly recommend this campground!

This "campground" is terrible! It is so small and trashy. The campsites are literally right on top of each other. No space in between campsites. It was awful. The noise was ridiculous all night long. The traffic on the road was so noisy it felt like they were driving right into the campsite. This is the worst campground I've ever stayed at. This was the biggest waste of money.

We stayed at one of the camper cabins! It was very nice and clean! There is only one outlet so suggest bringing a power strip. It was warm in July so we had a couple fans to cool the cabin. Shower house was a good facility. A very nice campground overall!

Nice campground that was a good mix of rustic while having enough amenities. The cabin was nice and everything it needed to be. Great location with mountain bike trails literally across the road.

The camp ground is really nice, the bathrooms were very clean. The staff was helpful in helping me fix a mixup while reserving my spot online. The only issues were the road noise and the proximity of the tent site next to ours. Some others sites offer more space.

4.5 stars. Nice little fend for yourself campground. Camp host is friendly and helpful. Nice level riverside campsites. Clean and spacious enough but still a little to close to neighbors especially when they have barking whining dogs or stay up til 2am laughing and talking. Vault toilets were decent and usable. On-site firewood was too wet and not dry enough to burn. We had a hard time starting and maintaining the fire. It smoked and sizzled and had water steaming out of it. Had to get wood elsewhere. The showers were the biggest problem for us. They are push button which is fine but they only stay on for 20 seconds. So constantly pushing the button or holding it down. Overall a very nice campground and would stay again.

Never stayed here before! Very close to your neighbors. We loved being right on the water. The river was great! The kids loved jumping in and kayaking! Short little walk to the large park. Campers and tenting it was great to see a more rustic campground!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay over Labor Day weekend - great waterfront view, clean site, and nice park across the street to walk/hike. We will definitely be coming back! 4 out of 5 stars for a couple reasons: - One group set off fireworks a couple of times in the campground. - Numerous campers didn’t keep their dogs on leash. Although I’m a dog lover, I don’t know if your dog will be friendly or not. - Firewood was VERY wet and hard to get going.

Quiet and secluded campground with friendly staff. They were dedicated to ensuring everyone had a wonderful stay with no tolerance for disruptive behavior. Owners gave us a full refund after a less than pleasant guest of a cabin kept us up. Owners even went as far as to remove her from the grounds after being notified so she didn’t ruin any other guests stay! We will be back. Thank you Randy and Pam!
