For starters, the fort is not in the State Park and is farther up the highway. Took me awhile to realize where it was based on Google Maps. The fort itself was super fun! Lots to see and I appreciated all of the staff to explain the skills to keep the fort going. Each cabin had folks eager to explain how to work a looming machine and the way that surveyors mapped the land. All very interesting stuff. Took an hour or so and was time well spent!

Fort was closed and most of the Park was closed and in need of serious repairs. We were able to see where Daniel Boone built cabins to start the settlement and later a small stone fort. Response to Owner's reply. We visited at 1300 on a Saturday. We estimated there were 10-cars parked in the lot in front of the fort. The fort gates were closed as was the small door to the left. We spoke to one couple who said they had toured the fort when the gate was open but were not sure why the gates were now closed. We did see someone who appeared to work at the Park when we drove to the other section and he confirmed the Fort should be opened. He drove over and came back to confirm the gate was closed but he was unsure why. It was still a nice stop but we had some miles to go.

At this time is closed due to flooding. But is great to see named after Daniel Boone. Has 26 cabins if I counted them right. And in the corner of the fort it is two stories high with lookouts. You can hike short trails fish and camp. It is $8.00 adults and $6.00 children.

It's been a while since we have been to the fort, and decided to pay it a visit. The exhibits were very interesting and the reenactors were very knowledgeable. Despite the heat, there were areas available to cool off. An interesting bit of American history.

Very cool place to visit! We accidentally went on the 250th anniversary of the original Fort Boonesborough. It was free that weekend, but i think it's normally $8 for adults. Very cool to see! They do have restrooms if anyone needs to know. They had vendors that still made things like they used to there, which you could buy some of the stuff from them. Very cool history to it. Even found a family member on one of the stones that was there when they first settled, so pretty cool!

This is a cool place and I would have given more stars if more of the "interpreters" had been there. We only saw the 2 ladies in the gift shop and the cool guy giving axe throwing tutorials. No potter, blacksmith or candle making today. I was a bit disappointed about that. The weather was gorgeous. Still nice to see a glimpse of history almost come to life.

Awesome family friendly park and campground. This property has it all including but not limited to the fort, river, beach, campground with free hot showers, mini golf, store, gift shop, dump station, multiple picnic areas, playgrounds, pool, basketball courts, volleyball courts and more. Leashed dogs are welcome but not in the fort. Parking is everywhere and large enough for any size rig or RV. I had 3 bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming throughout the property.

Pretty cool place to stop and check out. Lots of history on the area and a really cool gift shop. Inside the fort they have different buildings with different crafts from the era like candle making etc. If you're down that way you should stop in and check it out it's pretty cool.

Nicely laid out clean park. Kids will enjoy the attractions. Adults will appreciate the nature and historical significance.

This campground is amazing. The sites are nicely spaced apart, with a lot of shade. There are nice bathrooms and showers. A laundry room has very reasonable prices, and there's a grocery store with lots of varieties and RV parts as well. There are trails to hike , games including put put golf basketball court and a playground. Unfortunately the pool is out of service but the staff said it should be repaired by next year.
