Fort Toulouse - Jackson Park | Wetumpka, AL

This is a historic park, but it is very rundown. The bathroom facilities have been out of order for months. There’s a single porta potty for the entire park. The camping areas do not have lighting and there is no septic service at each individual camp space. It’s a great place to walk a great place to bike, but it is truly rundown.

We really enjoyed our visit and are excited to come back during a reenactment!

We were here for frontier days at fort Toulouse, fort Jackson. There's so many fun things to do and see during this historical event during this event. They have a very detailed Indian village. The French fort is complete with soldiers, officers and an outdor bread baking oven oven. Many other historic reenactors with a music camp. Fort Jackson is in the very back. They have food during this event and settlers selling goods!  This is a wonderful family, educational and fun event!

Nice place to take the kids. Didn't see a playground but there's plenty of space to play and walk. They have a lot of historical things to enjoy as well.

It is a park of sorts and there are plenty of vendors and lots to learn about the French/Indian War and where they lived. We had a BLAST (pun intended)!

When my family went, there wasn't much. It was considerably empty, with next to nothing for attractions.  Maybe I need to go another day.....

I don't know why Google is asking me about how the rooms and service were  here or how the hotel was because this is not a hotel! It's a historical landmark where there is a model of a French fort (Fort Toulouse) from the French and Indian War and also ruins of an American fort (Fort Jackson) from the 1800s. Luckily I stopped there on the right weekend when they were having a re-enactment/living museum weekend. It was fun!

The French & Indian War reenactors were very knowledgable and engaging. We especially loved the musket and cannon shooting, but just seeing the reproduction barracks and Alabama Creek houses was awesome. I wish they did this stuff more than twice a year.

Very cool place, absolutely beautiful. And the reenactments are incredibly informative and fun.

Nice place to get away and feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere. Enjoyed the old buildings, location on the river, and the places to walk. The bathroom was clean. Bring a picnic. Cheap admission at $2/adult and $1/child

Interesting piece of history. Fairly small place. Campground looks average but plenty of space.
