Didn’t camp, just went to the day use area for a picnic lunch and a nice hike after. Didn’t see any people other than another truck we passed on the way in. Very quiet and peaceful. Saw minimal wildlife but did see a bald eagle hovering above the lake and it dove down to snag a fish. Beautiful lake and lots of picnic tables.

I've been coming here for 35 years. Every year it just gets worse! Now the private concessionaire that runs it has adopted almost a militaristic, law enforcement, authoritarian approach. Today I just wanted to have a look around and see if it was worth trying to put a boat in next weekend and maybe camp. I was in my little truck and just wanted to drive through the campground. A nasty old lady in a bright green RV, apparently the campground host, followed me through the entire campground harassing me! These private concessioners (Lake of the Woods R esort) are ruining our public lands!

Excellent horseback riding. There are plenty of side with stalls for the horse. Plenty of room for trailers as well. The views and riding are stunning!

Once you get over the 6 miles of washboard road at 5 mph, the lake and surrounding area make the drive worth it! Our camp site was right near the water, with a perfect view of the lake and surrounding mountains. The camp hosts are wonderful people and very knowledgeable about the area.

I was originally bringing my dogs with me to hike on the trail, but then we saw the day use area. The lake is gorgeous! We went into the water and played for a while. The lake seemed fairly shallow for a pretty decent distance. Unsure when/where it gets deep at. I turned to look at the campground, and we saw the beautiful mountain peak of Mount McLaughlin. It was completely unexpected as I did not realize you could see the mountain from there. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful, peaceful day at Fourmile Lake. November 4th, 59 degrees with a bit of a breeze. Totally sunny! The lake was gorgeous, Mt McLoughlin was quite magestic!

It was nice my first time there. It is well taken care of. One of the most quite campgrounds I have ever been to.
