Beautiful trail. Be careful if you are not in a good physical shape - plenty of rocks and stairs. Make sure you wear good hiking shoes or better yet boots.

Frontenac is the kind of place that doesn’t need words but somehow deserves them anyway. Some places don’t need billboards or brochures — they just breathe, and if you’re lucky enough to wander in, they let you breathe with them. Frontenac is one of those. The river drags itself along like an old blues song, steady and deep. You stand there and watch eagles drift on the wind, sharp and certain, while the turkey vultures do their slow, lazy waltz above the bluffs. No TV’s, No cameras, no applause, just the raw deal of being alive in the right place. The trails wind like they’ve been here forever — dirt, rock, roots — the real stuff that reminds you walking is still a kind of prayer. You don’t talk much out there. You just move. The camp sunrise comes. It doesn’t care who you are, it just lights up the river and the hills like it’s done every damn morning for a million years. For a minute, you forget the noise of everything else. Frontenac isn’t fancy. It doesn’t have to be. It’s the kind of beauty that doesn’t try — and that’s the best kind there is.

Frontenac State Park is an outstanding place to spend time if you enjoy hiking, camping, and soaking in scenic views. Perched above Lake Pepin on the Mississippi River, the overlooks are breathtaking and the trails offer a mix of wooded paths and bluff-top vistas. It’s the kind of park where you’ll want to not just visit—but stay a while.

A wonderful State Park with a lot of great and wonderful trails. One long paved one that's easy going and a lot more with some elevation gain. Gorgeous this time of year, would be stellar in the fall. Too bad it was smoky, cut back on some of the views, but thats not the fault of the park.

Frontenac State Park is a nice park. There are some trails that are more rugged and a bit challenging aimed for the more experienced hikers and there are some trails that are better. The views of Lake Pepin and the Mississippi River are amazing by the picnic area. If you are looking for an adventure give Frontenac Park a try.

Did upper and lower bluff trail loop, my phone said it was under 4 miles. A few fox snakes like the stairs near the picnic area and plenty of wildflowers to view along trails. Stairs lead to rocky beach shores. Not too buggy as of May, lots of shade as well.

Huge park. I did not have time to explore the whole thing. Beautiful views and really high bluffs. Definitely worth the $7 day pass

Really beautiful State Park in Minnesota! The bluffs are beautiful. All year round and camping is pretty nice. Had some campers who did not keep their dog on a leash- Not the place for that. Ranger station is very knowledgeable and everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Hiking trail is maintained, but the modern bathrooms weren't available for campers in winter (which is where you'd actually need warm water to wash your hands). Over all good experience, needs more funding for amenities

Lovely spot for a picnic. Panoramic views, clean flush toilets, paved and unpaved hiking trails. I loved seeing so many people out hiking and enjoying the colors. Enjoyed large groups of white pelicans migrating.

Great state park just south of Red Wing with hiking trails that range from easy to fairly difficult. Nice camping spots on the bluff above the Mississippi River and Lake Pepin that are close together but some are wooded and reasonably private. New bathroom and shower facilities going in the spring of 2022.

What a great state park. We can't wait to get back during summer to hike more of the trails.

A lovely state park, with beautiful scenery, and engaging hikes. Campground can be hit or miss, depending on what you're looking for. First ring of sites is close together and more appropriate for families. The last ring has greater distance between sites if you want a quieter experience.
