editing for quicker visibility: the cabins and yurt have no bedding despite being the price of a hotel room that would provide these things we were bike-packing the I&M canal trail and it looked like rain so we decided to skip wild camping for the night and get a room somewhere and we figured why not support the local campsite conveniently located right off the trail? their cabins were fully booked so we went for the slightly more expensive yurt. the yurt was comfy enough with ample AC and plenty of room but there were no pillows, sheets, blankets or bedding of any kind (but 5 beds for some reason). idk for $90 a night i would expect a pillow and blanket. maybe the staff forgot to dress the room but who would know as there was no staff on site. hospitality isn't exactly an industry where you can just be absentee. i'd think that for the prices they're charging they could afford a few more amenities or to pay someone to be around...

We stayed here on our way across the country. We found them accessible, friendly, trustworthy and easy. The campground was adjacent to a beautiful cornfield. The sites are level, we did not even have to unhook. Perfect for our overnight needs. I would highly recommend it for an extended stay or on your way across country!

This campground is in a great location. I heard this was a former KOA, which it did look like in layout and style. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Great location to the town of Geneseo and also about a 30 minute drive to the “Quad City” area. A nice quality about the site is that it has a canal and walking path, just a few yards from the campground. Many spots are nicely wooded, giving you shade if needed. If it was a KOA, the spots are a bit close together but not too bad as is typical of a KOA. The one thing you don’t have is freeway noise! Very quiet and restful. The campground was clean and well cared for and a nice play area for kids along with Kayak/Canoe rentals. I wanted to note, that we were camping here with a group, and it was nice to have use of their clubhouse We would for sure return if we were in the area.

We had a confirmed reservation and received good communication leading up to our stay—but the actual experience was deeply disappointing. After 11 hours of driving, we arrived around 8:15 PM to find our assigned site already occupied. There was no on-site staff and only one number posted for after-hours help. My husband and I called and texted multiple times, but we didn’t hear back for over 12 hours—long after we had to deal with the situation ourselves. We parked in a neighboring site with no power, in humid, hot conditions, while traveling with pets. About an hour later, we learned that the spot we moved into had been assigned to another guest, putting them in the exact same stressful position. This clearly wasn’t just a fluke—it was a sign of poor site management. The bathroom facilities felt neglected and unkempt - the shower drain channel was exposed and visibly covered in mold and mildew. I respectfully requested a refund and was ignored until after posting my review. I saw many positive reviews before booking, but my experience was the opposite. We did not feel safe, or cared for - if there truly had been an emergency there would have been no support. Even if a refund eventually comes, this was the worst night of our trip—and it easily could have been avoided. I would caution other travelers to think twice. ***Update: A refund was issued after my review was posted. I appreciate the gesture, though the experience itself reflected serious gaps in support and management.

This is an awesome campground! The sites are very spacious and it's quite and clean. This is a hidden gem and well worth staying if you happen to be in the area. We will be back every vacation.

Spent the night at Geneseo Campground on my way home on a bikepacking trip. Very clean, quiet and accommodating! Electric service, water hydrants, showers, game room and a nice little, we'll stocked store! The staff was very helpful and friendly, especially Steph, and it was her first day! Highly recommended!

I was visiting Wildcat Den State park for a hiking trip and stayed here for two nights as it was only a 45 minute drive and SUPER affordable. The campground is pet friendly and super safe. The bathrooms are much more cleaner than other campsites I’ve visited and the shower water stays nice and warm. My cabin was the perfect size and the mini-fridge and microwave were super convenient. There’s a dog park, kids playground, and arcade room. Will be staying again.

We just went there now in the cold. Everything was very clean, the bathrooms were in very good condition. We spent a very pleasant family weekend. Everything we wanted. Highly recommended.

We just needed a single night on our return from a month long road trip. If we had been staying on a weekend in summer we might have felt differently, but mid-October we practically had the place to ourselves. The bathroom and shower were without question #1 of our whole trip, super clean and showers were really great. We enjoyed walking on the Hennepin trail, had I know we might have budgeted more time to explore more or take a canoe out. Laundry also looked great but we didn't need it.

This was the perfect little campground for our weekend in Geneseo. To be honest, we weren't around the campground much but when we were it was quiet and clean. They have a neat game room, bikes for rent and even though we didn't need them, the showers and restrooms were very clean. We will definitely be back when we have more time and we will bring our bikes to ride the trail.

This was a great spot for our overnight through town. The owner was thoughtful enough to call & warn of the low bridge in town & gave directions of how to avoid that route. Will definitely stay here again.

Just a great relaxing place to stay. Minor road noise here and there. Really friendly and relaxing. Shaded pull through sites and a trail along a river is a great walk or bike ride. We loved our stay here and will return if we get back this way again.I would recommend this place to a friend...

Stayed two nights, August 21-23, 2021. Owners are fantastic and very accommodating. Had a pull through site and there was plenty of room for our 31 foot camper and tow vehicle. Sites are gravel and pretty level. Rent a fun pedal bike, canoe/kayak, or just relax and enjoy the solitude. Lots of trees and easy access to the bike/walking trail. Campground is easy to get to but be sure to go through town to avoid the 10 foot viaduct. Check-in is 3:00pm which is a little late for my liking but check out is 2:00pm. A definite return place for us.

Warm and inviting. The owner/managers were very kind to show me how to hook up. God bless you
