Considered staying here in the future such as on my return from Vegas towards Tahoe but a camp host or long term resident was absolutely rude. I have never felt so disrespected in a camping area in my life. Yes I can read sir. No, I will not be giving you my business.

Located at corner of Rt395 and Rt168. North end of Big Pine California. Awesome views of eastern slopes of Sierra Nevada mountains. RV camp $25. Payment goes in slot box. FF, No Reservations. Camp has E/W/ $hower house is $2. for old pay machine timed hot water. Tokens by camp host when he’s there. Plenty of shade, the iconic big pine is gone. It’s 23 mile drive up to Bristlecone NP trails. Road noise from Rt 395 Camp host not in till evening. Possibly Full time campers living there.

I came to check out the area and see if I wanted to camp here. I walked into the rest room and a guy, who I am assuming was the camphost, banged on the door and started yelling “read the sign! It’s for customers only!” He was extremely rude and I immediately left. Not great for business. making people want to leave as soon as they arrive. Very poorly ran.

The short story: Quiet and nice campground with a few longer term residents, cheap showers but absolutely disgusting. The longer story: We've been boondocking for over a year with no hookups so we thought we'd splurge on a couple nights of unlimited electricity and showers with running hot water. We were medium surprised to find the prices had increased from $15 to $25. We were pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to fit in our 35' skoolie and Corolla. The neighbors were nice and kept to themselves. The shower stalls were atrocious! 🤢 For an extra $10 per vehicle per night you should be able to afford unlimited Dollar Tree shower curtains and bleach. There was so much mold I chose to wash myself with water from our kettle in our bus instead of shower in there again, after a 12 mile hike. The bathrooms weren't too bad and had a heater on at night. All in all: Give it a shot. Maybe they cleaned the shower room. This place needs more care but is an okay stop.

Was on my way home from Gardnerville, NV to Santa Barbara, CA in my lil RV and decided to stop in Big Pine, Ca to spend the night. I found Glacier View Campground right as I was pulling into town, which was so convenient. It was $25 for the night with electric hook up and a nice view of the mountains. It's a smaller park with restrooms and showers you can pay for. The camp host was very personable and helpful when I had a few questions. Spent a nice quiet evening and was on my way the next morning. I think I will probably stay here again in the future when making my next trip up to see the family.

Seemed privately owned, thought this was a county campground? The spots were all cramped and very close to each other. Most rvs seem run down. Showers are coin operated. Camphost was overall helpful, but not super welcoming.

Seems like a nice area to camp in, but the host refused to sell us slower tokens because we didn't have a campsite. He cited the rules posted at the entrance which only say that showers are for patrons, which we would have been if we were allowed to buy the tokens, ie, patronize the business.

Nice small quiet campground. Memorial weekend and it still had plenty of spots. We dry camped but there are several with electric and water as well. Great price too $20 for dry $25 for hook ups.

Normally Id give this place 4 or 5 stars, but I think a bunch of people have figured out a workaround for the 14 day stay limit and are living there full time, taking up most of the sites with power. Not sure. We were lucky to get one of the powered spots when someone pulled out our first morning there, but the rest of them look awfully settled in. I love this little park, but something seems a bit off there at the moment. I get that times are tough, just know that if you are headed this way, there is a very good chance the electric spots will be occupied. I stayed here in August of 2019 and it was not like this.

Great host, rustic, older campground and very clean. Ken is a great host and keeps this Campground in good condition. The sites are fairly close together, clean and clear of debris, leaves, etc. Picnic tables, level sites and trash dumpsters are always appreciated. The bathrooms are older but very clean and well stocked. The showers are private with a locking door, very clean and cost $2 for a token that gives you 7 minutes of hot water. No laundry at this campground. There is NO dump station and just water and electric at sites, or dry camp for $5 less. I’d give it 5 stars except there is no sewer dump at this RV campground...go figure. We used the free sewer dump 17 miles north in Bishop at the Arco Station just as you come into town. it’s busy but free and has fresh water. I’d definitely stay at Glacier View Campground again.
