We had a great time at Gotta Get Away Campground. We stayed towards the later side of August (1 night) on our camping trip out to South Dakota. It was quiet, only seasonal campers were there at the time. Staff was great, it was kid and dog friendly. The pool is huge and it was super warm. There is an awesome Arcade and nice clean laundry facilities and restrooms w/ shower. On our way back through we stayed on labor day weekend. The place was packed! I think we might have gotten the last site available. There were kids, pets, golf carts. It was really lively and there were tons of activities to do with my kids. They also had food trucks while we were there, there was a pizza truck and donut truck during our stay- both were great and it was a nice treat. We had a great time at this campground- it was clean, well managed, easily accessible to the highway and fairly priced! We will definitely be back again!

The welcome was nice and friendly. We were directed to our pull thru site. We arrived and it was still light out so we were excited about sitting out after our long drive. We got out and realized the house flies were swarming. 100s of flies! Actually more because just in the next day as we were traveling to Elkhart we killed over 115 flies in our coach. This was after I sprayed off the screen door and our bodies to get rid of them. I have never dealt with so many flies in my life and still 5 days later we are still killing flies. This campground seems nice enough but has a fly problem for sure,

Beautiful park and our site was huge with a wooden patio. We had power and water. Dump station on the way out. Nice, we'll stocked store. Friendly staff. Mainly permanent sites, but most were well cared for. Lots of fun Halloween decorations. Dog friendly. Lots of truck noise from the highway. I don't know if this is usual.

Spent 3 nights here every night around 9pm the smell is terrible it smells like sewer backup not farm related every night very nasty smell. The pond needs mucked out it’s in poor shape and hasn’t been kept up maybe some of the smell issue? Lastly the buddy and pull through spots are a terrible design make sure you understand them we had to roll our awning up and move the fire ring for the other person to “pull through” to there spot they really need to re design the buddy area or make it even/odd for buddies 2 evens or 2 odds don’t get the buddy spots like people think. Also found lots of nails in our site where someone had burnt pallets.

great campground ran by good people, easy to navigate sites and conveniently close to the interstate for travel. the only thing that would make this campground perfect is if they have sewer, which they offer a honey-wagon service while they’re waiting for the new sewer system. overall very family friendly, and there’s no shortcoming of events held every week.

This campground can best be described as unusual. The sites are everywhere at all different angles and directions. The pull-though section we were in was bumper to post alternating. So, Camper 1 – would pull-though Camper 2‘s site all the way to the other side stopping with their bumper lined up with the power box. Camper 2 would come from the other direction and drive through Camper 1’s site all the way to the other side stopping with their bumper lined up with the power box. Because someone might need to drive through your site we always felt like we had to make sure everything was always out of the way. There was another site that shared a deck area and others that shared a site/yard area because they are parked bumper to bumper at a 90-degree angle. The roads are just as strange. They are lined very tightly with trees making it impossible to get into some sites. Also, they run in the wrong direction to get to the dumpster or dump station. Creating a problem when cleaning up. If you don’t go backward around the campground you will need to go around the entire campground twice, once to get the dump station and dumpster and the second to get to the exit. The site all have water and electric. The restrooms looked like they had not been cared for in a while. The buildings appeared to be old and a bit run down. It is home to tons of Spiders, and webs Nothing about the restrooms are handicapped accessible to enter you must go up a step and there is a large step up to get into the shower. If you are over 6 feet tall your head is going to be between the rafters when showering so you will get to know the spiders very well. The pool was well cared for and they had a lifeguard on staff. They had a ton of things for people to do as well as planned activities. The campfire rings are small and the firewood for sale on site was expensive for what you got. It was a few pieces of scrap but no real logs or good cuts of wood. The sites are very well kept they were constantly mowing. We love the fact they let you enjoy your time. We strongly believe booking a campsite is like renting a piece of grass! We feel many campgrounds overstep and want to know way too much as much and want to control too many things. Even hotels that are providing everything don’t want to know that many details. Most campgrounds in the area charge for EVERYTHING as well as think they have the right to dictate what you do, how you do it and when you do. We never felt like we were being micro-managed or watched just waiting for us to do something wrong. They checked us in and allowed us to go to our site and take care of what we needed to do. They respected us as adults traveling and needing a place to park the rig and rest our heads. This is the only campground in the area that respects the fact camping is for families and they allow 6 people before they charge. Good campground just a bit strange.

Place needs to be kept better. The site was all dead leaves piled pretty high and someone threw a plastic cup in fire ring. Next site's fire ring was the same not cleaned out . Uneven spots. Overnight and not unhooking fine. Lots of don'ts. Nice people running it but this was after Memorial Day.

We were here for the NHRA races in Norwalk. I had called ahead to get advice on which site was best for our 44’ rig. Tammy (Tami?) was super helpful and friendly. Check in was smooth, I got to meet her in person and she’s a gem! Very friendly staff and guests. Large rec room and well stocked store. Constant activities such as karaoke and pot luck, food trucks, and a good sized pool. We also loved we could take our golf cart. We will definitely be back!

My family all camped here for my birthday weekend. My grown children and their families all had tent sites and we had an RV site. Fortunately for us it was also their Halloween Weekend! GGA had so many family festivities for the kids all day long! The park is beautiful and clean and the kids could walk safely to and from their cousins sites and the playground by themselves. Adults had their own festivities, contests and cornhole tournaments. They sell cold beer onsite, so we never had to leave. Kids loved the game room! The camaraderie amongst all the campers was incredible. Fellow campers were friendly and generous, the kids loot bags were full. We highly recommend GGA if you want good, clean, safe family fun!
