Grand Canyon Trailer Village RV Park
Overview
Trailer Village RV Park offers a rare opportunity to stay directly inside the boundaries of Grand Canyon National Park. As the only site within the South Rim providing full hookups year-round, it serves as a premier basecamp for travelers seeking both comfort and proximity. This concessioner-operated park allows visitors to skip the long entry lines at the park gates, providing a seamless transition from your RV to one of the world’s most iconic natural wonders.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in the heart of Grand Canyon Village, Arizona, the park is nestled within a high-desert pine forest that offers natural shade and a tranquil atmosphere. The landscape is frequently visited by local wildlife, including elk and mule deer, which often graze near the paved pads. Its central location means you are just moments away from the South Rim’s paved Greenway trails and the free shuttle bus system that connects visitors to various viewpoints and historic landmarks.
Amenities & Park Features
The park is designed to accommodate a wide range of vehicles, including big rigs up to 50 feet in length. Each site is paved and includes essential utilities such as water, sewer, and 30/50-amp electrical service. While the park maintains a rustic, natural feel, travelers benefit from modern conveniences like cable TV and charcoal grills. Although on-site showers are not provided, guests have easy access to the nearby coin-operated laundry and shower facilities located at the camper services building.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Staying at Trailer Village puts you within walking distance of Mather Point and the Yavapai Geology Museum. Guests can easily board the park’s shuttle bus system to explore the Hermit Road scenic drive or the various trailheads along the rim. For those interested in history, the Verkamp’s Visitor Center and the historic El Tovar Hotel are nearby. Biking along the Grand Canyon Greenway is another popular way to soak in the views without the need for a car.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for national park enthusiasts who prioritize location over resort-style luxuries like swimming pools. It is a perfect fit for families and retirees who want the convenience of full hookups while staying immersed in nature. If your goal is to witness a sunrise over the canyon without a long commute, or if you prefer a secure, paved environment for a large motorhome, this is the definitive choice for your Arizona adventure.

We went mid -November. Its a great location to stay right in the park. We had full hook-ups and it was quiet. The elk walked right through the campground which was fun to see. However, there are no amenities in the park for kids like playgrounds or anything. The showers were closed. They have a free shuttle.bus that comes every 15 minutes to the front of the park and it takes you to the Village downtown, the visitor center and many more stops in The Grand Canyon. It makes it easy to get around and not worry about parking.

Trailer Village Never Disappoints. We love going to the Grand Canyon National Park and our preferred place to stay is the Trailer Village campground. It is clean, safe, and well cared for. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The rack that it is a 15 minute walk to the canyon rim makes it the perfect place to stay.

Trailer Village RV Park is a great place to camp at the Grand Canyon. Restaurants, hikes, groceries, bars, and shuttle services are all in walking distance. The bathhouses are clean and sites well maintained. The South Rim Trail is less than a mile walk from your campsite. We had a great time camping at Trailer Village RV.

Awesome campground with lots of deer. You can easily walk to the Grand Canyon Rim or take the shuttle (stop on-site).

Loved having elk munching on the trees and grazing right next to the RV! Quiet. Well managed and clean. Convenient bathrooms and showers nearby. Paved spots with picnic table and fire pit with a grate. Free shuttle to take you throughout the park.
