We had a beautiful spot in the woods. Be forewarned....getting to the campground was treacherous. One lane very rocky road. No way out except back up the one lane road. Not sure what we will do if a trailer comes down the ONE LANE ROAD while we drive our trailer out.🙏

This campground was amazing. I could have stayed here for a week easily. We went paddleboarding a few times and on a hike around the lake. The views were stunning. My husband went fishing quite a few times in 2 days and kept catching and releasing fish. The camp hosts were so nice and informative. The only reason I took a star away was because the road coming down off of Grand Mesa scenic byway was meant to be a one way road but they had closed off the exit to work on it therefore it was 2 ways. It was so narrow that there was no way 2 rvs would be able to pass on it. The hosts were nice enough to go to the top and stop traffic coming down so we could leave. We also had spotty service there.

The camp ground is built around a wet bog as if to ensure the largest possible food supply for the millions of mosquitoes which live there. Most campsites have absolutely no view of the lake- much less easy access to it. The camp hosts this summer were super friendly and helpful and kept the many pit toilet bathrooms very clean. The tall trees are beautiful and each camp site has adequate space for camping and cooking and hanging out. Hammock opportunities abound. Cold potable water was available in late June. The nearby lodge has a small shop for some camping necessities and ice. Easy access to a couple of bike and hiking trails.

It was beautiful! Most sites had some nice tree cover. 10/10 would go again.

Great spot to camp on the Mesa. The campsites are very spacious and offer plenty of privacy. The camp hosts were available and friendly. We had the best time here.

Beautiful campground! A bit crowded on weekends. Nice that they have electric sites if you need them! Loads of wildlife and a super short walk to the lake.

Very well cared for. The camp hosts were excellent. I was there 2 time, once at Little Bear and once at the upper camp. Had fun. NO COMPLSINTS. I can't get the stars to cooperate. I give it a 5 star rating.

Nice campgrounds, sitting at 10,000 in Grand Mesa Nat Forest. Valley was 102, mountain top 72. Had a little cell on top. Verizon 1-2 bars.

WAHOO! Relaxation at its best! Camping at over 10,000 feet beats the heat and the view from the upper portion of the campground is spectacular! Plenty of sites with a few having electrical hookups. Island Lake is a short walk away. This campground is in the middle of everything! Great hosts too!

Beautiful spot atop the Grand Mesa. Fantastic fishing, swimming, and hiking opportunities. We book the group site 32-35 every August. Minus 1 star because of the hosts. While helpful and friendly, they are EXTREMELY involved and will not leave you alone. They nitpick at every opportunity and it's mildly agitating.

Great campground. Most sites are extra large. Was very quiet except for a couple generators running party of the time. Some sites have electric. We had no mosquitos or other bugs!
