DO NOT GO HERE! I've been a full time RVer for over 4 years - I've stayed in 100s of campgrounds- dozens of boondocking sites - only about 30 States but working on the rest- this is without a doubt the worst campground I've ever been in. You're taking your life into your hands getting down the 1 road to get there- very thin lanes with hairpin curves and idiots driving way too fast around curves - almost had a front end crash because the maniac came around a blind curve in my lane while I was going to get some food. 2 RVs have to drive on the shoulder and part into the drainage ditch to pass. And that road is nothing compared to the campground roads. A go cart race track looks like an Interstate highway compared to the ridiculous turns in the campground. And the map is useless - it says " not to scale" but it should say " unrelated to reality"! Roads that don't exist are on the map and roads on the map don't exist. I drove around trying to follow the map to get out first almost an hour until a couple of annual residents helped me and led me to the exit. There's no water in large parts of the campground - NO WATER! How do you live if you can't flush the toilet or wash your hands, much less cook??? There's NO CELL SERVICE! I couldn't even get satellite radio. The very overpriced campground WIFI sucks! This site's are so thin I needed to rub the deck with my right sides tires to have enough room to open my left side slide-out. The deck is decrepit- moldy rotten wood with rusty nails sticking out and moss growing on it.

The pool was nice. That’s the highlight but it goes downhill from there. The fact that they list a tennis court an amenity is laughable. Lots of areas just completely run down - it’s obvious they need to spend some money in upgrades

We were very disappointed with our recent visit. The pool was not open during Memorial Day weekend due to a “broken part”—the same issue that occurred last year. This kind of delay suggests poor planning; necessary parts should be kept on hand, especially ahead of major holiday weekends. The upper road remains unrepaired, and there are heavily eroded sections at the 700 entrance. The block retaining walls in that area appear unstable and on the verge of collapse. Tree overgrowth is another issue—trees need to be trimmed back throughout the campground and on nearby state roads to accommodate taller campers. NCDOT may need to be contacted regarding the state roads. Many campsites were uninhabitable. It appeared that only the permanent sites in the “downtown” section were being maintained, while others—including those in the 700 section—were overcrowded and in poor condition. We were not given the option to choose our site and were packed in with little space or privacy. Additionally, the office was locked, and we had to conduct business through a window, which made check-in and communication feel impersonal and inconvenient. Overall, the lack of maintenance and customer care significantly impacted our experience.

The staff are really very nice, friendly and accommodating. However, the owners should be ashamed of the condition of the facility. There are 3 large potholes in the road that you drive into after crossing the bridge. The tree limbs are overhanging and WILL scratch the side of your rig. The park needs to have roads adequately repaired and the exits should be repaired or at least have correct signage. This park may have been a good park at one time but not at this time due to the deferred maintenance and corporate neglect. I would feel deceived if had bought into this membership.

This is an older campground with campsites for anything from tents to larger Class A motorcoaches. The good: has a great location in a valley with trees and big hills all around. There are 7 miles of hiking trails with moderate to challenging difficulty. There are some pretty good hills to climb. The views and wildlife are great! You hear Pileated Woodpeckers and all sorts of birds. There are deer around too and a variety of interesting plants and morels (mushrooms) the place is literally covered in rhodedendron bushes that will certainly be beautiful in the month of May or so. The okay: sites are mostly unpaved and not very level. Expect to have to add 1 to 4 inches on one side of your camper to get level. The water pressure was very high so I recommend you have a pressure regulator as to not damage your camper plumbing. The ugly: the facilities are in pretty bad shape with the exception of the very nice clubhouse. The putt putt is a 9 hole course with some challenges including a lot of moss and dirt on the surfaces. The tennis courts are definitely in bad repair and need resurfacing. Shuffleboard is also in bad need of resurfacing. The bath house near the 700 area had heat running all the time which made it a sauna and a haven for bugs and other animals. Some of the fixtures are out of order. Cellular coverage here is bad so don't expect to work or make phone calls unless you have satellite service or subscribe to the $8/day Internet Wifi they offer which honestly wasn't bad. I'd definitely camp here again but with lower expectations about the facility and because of the positive things like being unplugged from my phone and the beautiful surroundings. I'd like to end my review on a positive note with a request that whatever is needed to get this place in good shape be made known both to the patrons and to the Thousand Trails management. I believe there are good people out there who love to camp who would be willing to assist in some of the needed maintenance of surfaces as well as electrical, heating, and plumbing. A crew with a power washer and a few hours to resurface the shuffleboard court would be a good start. Would you be willing to offer free nights or weeks of camping in exchange for work? Let's be positive. I can only give 3 stars because that is honest. But the campground has great potential and a lot of positives.

We stayed here in the fall last year. This place is tucked between the woods in Lenoir. The fall color was just amazing. The staff was very nice and let us drive around to see the available sites. Pro tip: ask to stay closer to the front of the park. In the back of the park the sites were very tight and the road was kinda tricky if you have a big RV. It’s also not as pretty. Our site was very spacious and gave a lot of privacy. They have trails coming out of the park that’s fun to explore. We barely had cell phone and internet connection tho. If you want to enjoy the nature and be unplugged, this is the place to go. If you need internet connection to work remotely like us, then it’s not recommended to stay here.

4.7 stars! It is a large campground, lots of spaces. We were here w our dog for a couple of days. Everyone was nice, campers and staff. There were a lot of activities for adults, kids, and families. We look forward to our next visit

This was an interesting campground. Tucked back in the woods of Lenoir, my favorite thing was how quiet it was. It was packed, but quiet. Didn't like how tight the spaces were and that there is zero cellular signal there. But that's not necessarily their fault. Bath houses could definitely use some maintenance.

Nice park in a beautiful location but in the middle of some upgrades. Will be awesome when they are finished.
