Absolutely fabulous place. Seemed like a lot of money and resources were put in to making this a preferred place for camping and recreation. Loved all the facilities, trails, recreational areas, trails and proximity to the beach. Staff was very friendly too. Will definitely go back. By the way, be on the lookout for gators.

Gulf Shores State Park is one of those rare places that perfectly blends natural beauty with convenience. The park itself is stunning—miles of scenic coastline nearby, peaceful lakes, and well-maintained grounds—but what really sets it apart is the incredible trail system. The network of paved trails makes getting around effortless and enjoyable. Whether you’re biking, walking, you can head north, south, east, or west and always end up somewhere worth going. One minute you’re surrounded by quiet coastal inland, and the next you’re rolling straight onto the beach with the sound of the waves right in front of you. What makes it even better is how connected everything is. The trails don’t just keep you inside the park, they link you directly to some of the best local spots. You can easily ride over to grab a drink, hit a great restaurant, or explore nearby hangouts without ever needing to get in a car. It turns every outing into part of the experience rather than just a destination. It’s the kind of place where your mornings can start with a peaceful ride through nature and evenings end with a sunset by the water or a casual dinner just a short trail away. Gulf Shores State Park isn’t just a place to stay, it’s a hub that makes the entire area feel accessible, relaxed, and effortlessly enjoyable.

Absolutely phenomenal park!!! I am blown away! Gorgeous landscape, beautiful sunsets, the flora and fauna have me in awe. 28 miles of trails for biking and walking. I've spotted alligators, blue heron, turtles, lizards.. very cool! All the campsite hosts are friendly and our check-in was very easy and we were also greeted with welcoming service. We chose campsite number 479 right next to Mission Lake and the pedestrian bridge that takes you to the ocean. This campground is so clean, beautiful, and offers multiple bathrooms with showers and restrooms. The bathrooms are clean and the showers have enough space to shower and change. Each campsite I've seen has a dump station and water, which has come in handy. There's also Wi-Fi! There's also a restaurant on the campgrounds and tomorrow night we are going to listen to live music and have a few drinks. I've truly loved my stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone! We were only going to stay for four nights but we extended it to a week because we are having such a great time.

Beautiful friendly campground. Large camp site's with water and electric and sewer. The waterfront sites are really nice, We stay at many, but 269 and 265 are my personal favorite. There is plenty of hot water and the bathroomss could be cleaner but not awful. There are lots of bunnies and birds. Great place to ride bikes and bring children. Lots of activities around Gulf Shore like Brayden Beach across from the park and the Hangout which is a large eatery with nightly music.

I visited friends for 5 days at this State park and it was awesome. There are 28 miles of bike trails, Pickle Ball courts, a great nature center and I saw 🐊 Alligators, Great Blue Herons, Armadillos, Pelicans & a lot of cool shells 🐚 on the beach. You can ride on the trails to the beach. The bath houses are very clean. I also did a load of laundry and found that to be great. I will definitely be back to this State park as it is so peaceful and I felt very safe there. I recommend this campground to all campers.

Gulf State Park was very unique in the fact that the park felt like it was squashed in-between the town. It was gorgeous though, with the lake on one side and the Gulf on the other. Great boardwalks thoughout the park, just be careful if you are foot traffic as cyclists will run you down. There is a great playground area for the kids and perfect picnic tables right on the lake.

This is a beautiful park. Lots of biking and walking trails. There are free bikes to rent however if you want to do a lot of the park I would suggest renting the paid bikes. There are alligators and wonderful birds to see! The nature center is free (after $3 admission to campground) and has amazing exhibits and love animals!

We finally made it to Gulf State Park for our anniversary trip! It's a place we've wanted to visit for years, especially since getting our e-bikes. After a few tries of finding a spot, we were so excited to book our stay. 😁 On our anniversary, we drove the scenic coast in our Jeep, stopping along the way to enjoy appetizers from Gulf Shores to Destin and back. We ended the night watching the sunset at the beach. It was a perfect way to celebrate. 🥂💖 In the remaining two days, we biked over 85 miles, exploring all the park's trails and even riding the Fort Morgan Road trail outside the park. 🚲 I can confidently say this is the best state park we've ever camped at—they truly have thought of everything. We're already planning our next trip and can't recommend it enough! 🏕️ #lanclosadventures

Only saw the huge pier but it was beautiful. Seasonal restaurant and bar on site, great owners! Fish from the pier or just site see. Bait cutting tables available along the pier as well as a fish cleaning station with a grinder to discard the trash.

Very relaxing place where you can sit by the water for hours or go for a walk or ride a bike or...whatever you want to do. There's so much to do in nature in God's creation. It's just peaceful place that every time I'm in the area I will go. My husband and I enjoy it so much.

Excellent location! Close to aqua green beaches and fantastic restaurants, shopping, and a short drive to awesome Fort Morgan, Fairhope and Foley. Beautiful trails crisscross through and around the park. Gorgeous freshwater lake for fishing, swimming or boating. Clean, spacious, well cared for RV sites with shade trees and grass. Huge gorgeous pool. The showers are okay. Better than some I've seen. Laundry room has several machines. This is a safe, gated part, with friendly and accommodating staff.

Spectacular resort state park. Many ways to stay… RV, tent, lodge (run by Hilton), cabins. Beautiful clean beach, large pool at the campground, play area for the kids and miles of hiking and bike trails. Restrooms and bath houses are super clean and modern.

Beautiful park and extremely well cared for. The staff were too notch and it is located in a very convenient location. The cabis were exceptional and the campground was amazing. Can't wait to go back and take the RV. The only bad thing we encountered wasy wife was stung over 30 times by fire ants! Their nests are everywhere around the cabins.

Beautiful park with tons to do over 20 miles of trails. Rented e-bikes for 4 hrs it was so fun! The views and well maintained trails were nice. The nature center had many coastal reptiles and very informative. Also the beach access is very clean with bathrooms, pavilion and life guards on duty. The parking is $10
