Fort Pickens is one of my favorite places in Pensacola. It's where I take people when it's their first time here. A great and unique thing about this fort is the ability to self guide yourself around the grounds. Love love this park.

A little history and a bit of relaxation. The perfect combination. It's worth drive to see and explore the old fort and to see the beach with less hustle and bustle. Just the simple beauty of the beach the way it once was. There are bathrooms and a good path to get you closer to the packed sand. The water was super clear and the sunset was lovely. There are tables in the pavilion so you can have sand free sandwiches 😁. There's also a shower to rinse off all the things on the path out. We will definitely be back.

Ft. Pickens was a really interesting place to visit! It is so much bigger in person with a lot to look at. Our boys enjoyed going down the tunnels. If it hadn't been 101 degrees, we would have loved exploring more.

These are only pictures of the main Fort. The highlight of your visit. You need 2 days to see everything here. All of the batteries around the key are fascinating to see and wander around. So much history here. The beaches are also very beautiful. Amazing sense of peace. Well worth the 7 day pass. If you camp here even better. One of our favorite places to visit in Pensacola. And the rangers are super friendly and informative.

You have to pay a entrance fee to get inside. But after you get in you have beautiful beaches and sand dunes up until you reach the fort. There will be a self guided tour, you can walk almost everywhere you want had have amazing sights and tunnels to explore (be aware that mose are dead ends and you'll need to follow your steps back) but nonetheless the historical place is amazing to visit.

A great day out trip, connecting with history. The fort has such an impressive history. Take the kids, if you have 'em, maybe have a picnic lunch. My wife and I really enjoyed the walk though it.

A pretty cool fort showcasing a variety of eras in US military history. Unfortunately the salt of Mother Nature continues to wreak havoc on the materials and various parts have had to be closed off. Also, prepare for plenty of wind coming off the water.

Great historic site with beautiful beaches. I am a history nerd so I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The sunsets near the fishing pier are the best.

Very large old fort right in Pensacola Bay. Nice walking tour via the NPS app explains when the fort was occupied and what different parts were used for. Great views out to the bay and the Gulf from the top. Directly across the bay from the Naval Air Station.

Interesting historical site. Could use more signs describing what you are looking at. Many areas left me wondering what the particular area was used for. Beautifully kept grounds well maintained. Plan on minimum hour visit. Open staircase if young kids are with you could be a hazard for some. Not handicapped accessible to upper levels.
