Our family has been coming to Happy Holiday since 1995. Our 2 children loved it there and our grandchildren did also. For the 30 years we’ve been going there NOT ONCE did we ever have a complaint or any type of problem until this year. We are SO disappointed in the park now. Our granddaughter saved up all year so she would have the money to play in the arcade and it is closed, which was not noted on their website. Also, the pool was closed for most of our trip and they could not tell us when it would open. This is In August. We were told the lady who cleans it wasn’t working and they could not give us a definitive answer as to when it would be open. To say our family is upset is an understatement. Who ever bought the campground is ruining it. We heard a lot of campers complain. I just HOPE they read these reviews and will do something. I don’t want to quit coming here as it it a tradition for our family and now our children’s family. Please be more responsible & competent in the way you are running the campground!

⭐ 1 Star - Take the Bad Reviews Seriously – They’re All True We’ve been coming to Happy Holiday Campground for years, and to say it’s gone downhill is a massive understatement. This was the worst campground experience we’ve ever had — and I want to warn others before they waste their money. First, there is E. coli in the creek, and there are zero signs posted to inform guests. That’s a serious health risk, especially for kids playing in the water. The fact that the campground chooses not to take this more seriously is concerning. The campsites themselves are a muddy mess. No gravel, just thick mud everywhere. It’s not maintained and makes for a terrible camping experience. Bathrooms and showers were not cleaned for over 48 hours — and were only cleaned after my husband personally asked. That kind of basic sanitation should never be neglected. The pool looks like dirty dish water. It’s a brownish, greenish, yuck color that I am hoping doesn’t make anyone sick. The chemicals CANNOT BE RIGHT. Most concerning- BED BUGS IN MULTIPLE CABINS - at arrival we were informed one of cabins had bed bugs and they had no where else for us to stay. So we had to stay in a camper spot. • My sister-in-law who stayed in another cabin was bitten all over her body, found a live bed bug, and was given no money back — just moved to another cabin. That’s smart, let’s move bed bugs to another cabin… • Then another family member woke up covered in bed bug bites in a completely different cabin. • The staff openly admits they know about the infestations but are still renting these cabins out. That’s disgusting and reckless. To top it off, the customer service is the worst I’ve ever encountered. The staff is rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. There is absolutely no accountability. They made it clear they do not care about the comfort, safety, or satisfaction of their guests. We are heartbroken by how far this place has fallen. If you have a reservation, please cancel it and get your money back while you can. Do not stay here. It’s not worth the risk to your health or your family’s comfort. Pics added for proof.

I would give zero stars if I could. Our stay at this campground was an absolute nightmare. The cabin we were given was infested with bedbugs. I ended up with multiple painful bites, and worst of all, I had my three-month-old child with me in that cabin. I can't describe the stress and concern we felt knowing our baby was exposed to that. They were aware of this situation and they haven’t resolved the issue and continue to put people in these cabins. As if that wasn't bad enough, the bathrooms were filthy—poorly maintained and clearly not cleaned regularly. When I approached the staff about the bedbug issue, they were completely unhelpful and refused to issue a refund, not just for the cabin, but also for the damaged clothing and luggage we had to deal with because of the infestation. No apology, no accountability—just a shrug and a refusal to take responsibility. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially families with young children. There are plenty of other campgrounds that actually care about cleanliness and guest safety. Stay far away.

My family has been coming here for 30 years, it’s always been wonderful, until this year. The shower houses are nasty, hair balls and toilet paper everywhere. The bathrooms haven’t been properly cleaned in a long time. Then the next day someone had an incident in the shower house and there was blood EVERYWHERE. It was a massacre. After we reported it, it took 3 hours for someone to come out and half ass clean it. No bleach was used and there was still blood on the floors and benches. The pool has been closed a majority of the time the past week, even when not cleaning. One time it was closed and when asked why, the worker replied “we’re watching for storms in the next hour” like people can’t decide for themselves when to get out of the pool. There have been people complaining of bed bugs in the cabins. The water shut off this morning in the middle of my shower, so no one could shower or flush the toilets. This place used to be fun, and enjoyable, with live music and craft days for kids. It’s so disappointing to see those days are long gone.

Our Favorite place to camp 🏕️ with our family and friends! We tent camp, spaces are big enough for 2-4 tents according to size, and it’s located super close to the river. The staff are all so friendly and helpful! Bath houses and clean and well maintained. Dog friendly , and my dogs love it here. Pizza is hot and fresh and delivered!

Stayed here for a week over Thanksgiving break. The staff were incredibly nice. The ducks are absolutely cool, we were able to feed them and toward the end of the week they would let us pet them! The place was very well maintained, spots were easy to pull into. River spot we had was amazing, loved the rushing water. Only things I would say could be improved on, Spot numbers were a little hard to read at night when we arrived and the bathhouse was pretty chilly even though it was listed as heated.

Bee Nice gardens and landscaping

Nice place for RV camping i imagine. I would not recommend it for tent camping. The tent area has too many spots too close together and one picnic table for 7 or so spots. It was later in the season so we got the area mostly to ourselves and had a fine time, but we will try another campground next time. You don't get much for your $ here as a tent camper. But all and all a nice place with a pleasant enough staff.

We had a great experience here! We stayed on the creek for the weekend and had a relaxing time. There is some traffic noise from the road but the sound of the creek does a good job drowning it out. The staff was very friendly and the grounds are kept clean. Lots of smiles and waves from neighbors. We can’t wait to plan our next trip!
