Been coming here for years but after this weekend, we wont be coming back. Its gotten worse and worse the last few times. This weekend we had the loudest group next to us. Dirty music all day and extremely loud talking until midnight. We have 3 small children. The campers only beach was closed so we had to go to the main beach area that had only a couple of lifeguards so everyone was pack in like sardines. The beach was 90% of the reason we would come here. We wont be going back any longer

Great location, in close proximity to a lot of nice places, lakes, trails and of course Bear Mountain / Harriman state parks. The lots are spacious and equipped with a fire pit, a picnic table and a bear-box. You're allowed to park one car per camp lot inside. Amenities were clean and well maintained.

They say it is a Private beach access but the gate is always open so basically people from the public beach can also come and go as they please. Other than that, Nice and clean facilities. There is a water fountain on the beach. Be warned that even though the beach is supposed to be open till 8 they chase you out of the water at 7.

It was good the first night we stayed which was Thursday night and not a lot of people. Enjoyed the little private beach area and the nearby hiking trails. The bathrooms were not the most clean but also not horrible. The sites were large and the bear cabinets were great. We saw deers on the sites and the rangers told us that there were sighting of baby bear as well. However, Friday night was a disaster. Like everyone else commented, there were Spanish music/gathering til 3am and zero enforcements. Ended up calling the cops and the state troopers arrived at 4am and that’s when they stopped.

A bit crowded and noisy but hard to beat the price and location. Flush toilets and shower area were clean over the week I was there. Rangers and staff are very friendly and helpful. Bear lockers but I saw no signs of activity, which is surprising given the state of several of the campsites- people left food trash out frequently.

This campground is awesome! This is our second visit and we’re having a great time. The restrooms are clean, there’s big stainless steel sinks for doing dishes, and every is quite respectful of quiet hours. A really refreshing spot just a short drive north of the city.

Yet another state park that seems to have seen better days. Many of the road areas are falling into disrepair and the bathrooms could really use some overhaul. That being said the beach area is huge and nice looking (besides the camper only portion), and they have a new(er) playground for young kids. Bear boxes for food were nice and the wash basins would be handy if both were spread out more so it was not just people at the start of the rows that benefit.

I have been coming to this campground for a while. Check in was fast and painless. Staff were very friendly and professional. Campground was clean. I only got one name, Edens, one of the ground staff. Very helpful and pleasant even after I walked in with my muddy sneakers on his just cleaned bathroom floor. My son's first camping trip and overall a great experience. Rangers were constantly around which some people may not like but which I found very reassuring. I only have one negative. The fire ring on my site was filled with old coals and ash. No place to put our coals. Fortunately we had 2 sites so we were able to barbeque on the other.

To make a long story short I went from cry-baby camper to happy camper, thanks to the awesome park rangers for helping me out. The camp grounds accommodate all types of campers. You like peace and quiet or like a chill out? Solo or in a group? Like trails or rather swim in the beautiful lake? You can do it all at Beaver pond.

So enjoyable, we packed up and found a hotel at midnight! I would not recommend unless you want to be surrounded by unruly kids running all over the place and loud music into the wee hours of the night. They had a long list of rules, such as: no alcohol, quiet time at 10pm sharp, no amplified music, etc. Well, don't let those scare you.... They aren't sticky enforced at all. We stayed here on a Friday night and during check-in, they moved us back to the W section from my reserved E section. The ladies at the front (who were very nice) insisted it would be quieter because it was a youth group of inner city "kids" chaperoned by cops. OK... Fine. Fast forward a few hours, well beyond "quiet time", and it sounded like a college dance party going on. We called the number they provided as the "noise complain" line and it was a dead line. The next number they provided was a number to the police, who seemed completely confused why they were a provided number on the Campground information. Regardless... We were getting NO SLEEP, so we packed up and drove south to the nearest hotel. This place gets two stars because the staff was friendly, the store was stocked with ice, and the beach/lake looked clean (if it were open).
