Heritage RV Park

Overview

Heritage RV Park offers a front-row seat to the dramatic landscapes of the Kachemak Bay. Located directly on the Homer Spit, this park blends the rugged beauty of Alaska with essential comforts for modern travelers. It is widely known for its beachfront access, allowing guests to step out of their rigs and directly onto the shoreline. The park provides a welcoming atmosphere where the sounds of the ocean and the sight of snow-capped mountains define the daily experience.

Location & Surroundings

The park sits on the narrow finger of land known as the Homer Spit, surrounded by the pristine waters of Kachemak Bay. This unique position offers 360-degree views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers. Guests are within walking distance of the bustling Homer Boat Harbor, making it easy to watch the fishing fleet or explore the local boardwalk shops. The environment is characterized by crisp salty air, active marine life, and the iconic end-of-the-road charm that Homer is famous for.

Amenities & Park Features

Facilities at Heritage RV Park are designed to support a comfortable stay in a remote Alaskan setting. The park features full hookup sites equipped with water, sewer, and both 30 and 50-amp electrical service. On-site conveniences include the following:

  • Clean restrooms and private showers
  • Laundry facilities for long-term travelers
  • An on-site espresso bar for morning refreshments
  • High-speed Wi-Fi access

World-class halibut fishing charters depart just minutes away, and the nearby Center for Coastal Studies offers insight into local marine biology. Visitors can spend their afternoons browsing the art galleries on the Spit or take a water taxi to Kachemak Bay State Park for rugged hiking trails. In the evenings, many guests enjoy gathering around a beach campfire to watch the sunset over the water or spot bald eagles overhead.

The site had everything we needed. The views are amazing and the location couldn’t be better. It is within walking distance of the shops on the spit. When we were there we had to evacuate due to a Tsunami warning, but only for a few hours and it ended up being located far from us. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay! We wish we had stayed longer! Great location on the spit, great staff, bathroom and laundry were exceptionally clean. This is the only campground we have ever been to where there is an attendant in the showers to maintain the traffic and cleanliness. Showers are free, warm and spacious. There are ample number of coin operated washers and dryers, and change is readily available if needed. The office is very nice and clean; it is well stocked with small store, information and cafe. Get a spot on the beach and watch the otters swim, fish jump, and bald eagles soar. Loved having campfires every night in the individual fire pits. Can hear some morning traffic of cars on the spit but nothing disruptive. Booking was easy and communication was great; we were able to be next to the 3 other RV's we were traveling with. Our teens liked being able to get out of RV walk the beach or down to the shops. It is parking lot style but spaces are plenty big enough. It is one of our favorite campgrounds we have ever been to. We will definitely be back.

This is a great campground. We stayed here 5 days and loved the location! The showers were clean and the laundry attendant was always kind and helpful. The fishing lagoon is right next door and the beach views are amazing. The grounds were clean and perfect for a relaxing time on the spit. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location! The laundry and shower facilities were very clean. The main office has a cute coffee shop and gifts. They also have games and books for use during your stay. Highly recommend if RVing Alaska.

Great overnight stay. Good hookups and clean facilities. Friendly staff. Good coffee. Very popular; reservations recommended. Lots of late night traffic on Spit Road. Spaces away from the road might be quieter. Highly recommended by an inexperienced RV camper.
