There are few options in this area but beware of Hidden Acres Campground in Bowling Green. The staff is rarely if ever available. They do not answer the phone, the voicemail box is full so you can’t leave a message, and the office is rarely open. If you do manage to get in the office you will be bombarded with cat pee smells from the unchanged litter box. Most of the sites do not have working electric and the staff cannot figure out the reservation system and often double book sites leaving someone with no where else to go.

We stayed for a month and we enjoyed our stay. Some spaces are a bit tight, we didn’t have much sitting room outside the RV, the bathhouse was always clean and we enjoyed our walks around the lake. That being said, there are several small improvements that they are just neglecting to do, (ie getting the nasty boats out of the water, fixing up the main shop floors, fixing the laundry room up)

We stayed here for the 2010 Boy Scout National Jamboree (the last one at Fort A.P. Hill). Since we were attending as Day-Visitors, we needed to secure our own lodging and this worked out perfectly. We had a fantastic stay in one of the "Scout Cabins" and we are so thankful for your hospitality. God bless and thanks again for letting all of those visiting troops of Scouts camp out on your front lawn.

Business does not have the option to reserve a place online as their website is apparently outdated and not working. I only found this out after I tried to pay for a spot - which it happily took my money - and then had an error. Calling this business informed me that website has not been working since 2017. Why have this up if you aren't using it? I had a mess to deal with to cancel the payment on my end as business said that they couldn't help me. So, since I couldn't get a spot through their broken website I called them to supposedly get a space. At first they were somewhat helpful, but they wouldn't let me purchase over the phone and refused to give me a lot number. I explained that we will be coming from out of state and wanted to make sure that we would have a spot for a busy holiday weekend. I was reassured that all I needed to do was "give my name" when I got there. Little did I know that their business hours are absolutely terrible for a campground. We drove 7 hours to get to the campground only to find out the hours differ in-person than on the website. Closing at 6 on a weekday and at 2 on Saturday, closed on Sunday???? Everyone camps ON THE WEEKENDS. So, we drive 9 hours due to holiday traffic, getting there before what the website had said was close (7:00), only to find out that the close at 6. We were left with nowhere to go in a different state, and had no lot number to occupy despite my supposed reservation. We absolutely panicked trying to find a hotel (most of which were full - because, HOLIDAY WEEKEND) because all other campgrounds were full. This was an absolutely horrible experience that made us have to spend a lot of money on an emergency hotel and go home 2 days early. Ruined our entire vacation.

I have Been here over a month now. Everyone has been respectful and polite. Nice quiet place to stay if you work on the road a lot. You will not find a better rate anywhere in Virginia. I love this place. Negative comments are left by negative people. God Bless
