There are few options in this area but beware of Hidden Acres Campground in Bowling Green. The staff is rarely if ever available. They do not answer the phone, the voicemail box is full so you can’t leave a message, and the office is rarely open. If you do manage to get in the office you will be bombarded with cat pee smells from the unchanged litter box. Most of the sites do not have working electric and the staff cannot figure out the reservation system and often double book sites leaving someone with no where else to go.

We stayed for a month and we enjoyed our stay. Some spaces are a bit tight, we didn’t have much sitting room outside the RV, the bathhouse was always clean and we enjoyed our walks around the lake. That being said, there are several small improvements that they are just neglecting to do, (ie getting the nasty boats out of the water, fixing up the main shop floors, fixing the laundry room up)

We stayed here for the 2010 Boy Scout National Jamboree (the last one at Fort A.P. Hill). Since we were attending as Day-Visitors, we needed to secure our own lodging and this worked out perfectly. We had a fantastic stay in one of the "Scout Cabins" and we are so thankful for your hospitality. God bless and thanks again for letting all of those visiting troops of Scouts camp out on your front lawn.

Business does not have the option to reserve a place online as their website is apparently outdated and not working. I only found this out after I tried to pay for a spot - which it happily took my money - and then had an error. Calling this business informed me that website has not been working since 2017. Why have this up if you aren't using it? I had a mess to deal with to cancel the payment on my end as business said that they couldn't help me. So, since I couldn't get a spot through their broken website I called them to supposedly get a space. At first they were somewhat helpful, but they wouldn't let me purchase over the phone and refused to give me a lot number. I explained that we will be coming from out of state and wanted to make sure that we would have a spot for a busy holiday weekend. I was reassured that all I needed to do was "give my name" when I got there. Little did I know that their business hours are absolutely terrible for a campground. We drove 7 hours to get to the campground only to find out the hours differ in-person than on the website. Closing at 6 on a weekday and at 2 on Saturday, closed on Sunday???? Everyone camps ON THE WEEKENDS. So, we drive 9 hours due to holiday traffic, getting there before what the website had said was close (7:00), only to find out that the close at 6. We were left with nowhere to go in a different state, and had no lot number to occupy despite my supposed reservation. We absolutely panicked trying to find a hotel (most of which were full - because, HOLIDAY WEEKEND) because all other campgrounds were full. This was an absolutely horrible experience that made us have to spend a lot of money on an emergency hotel and go home 2 days early. Ruined our entire vacation.

I have Been here over a month now. Everyone has been respectful and polite. Nice quiet place to stay if you work on the road a lot. You will not find a better rate anywhere in Virginia. I love this place. Negative comments are left by negative people. God Bless

Worst place ever!!. Me and my family are passing through. We called to see if they have any spots open for a couple nights the lady was very rude and passed me to another guy. Then in talking to him and he gets my information about how big my camper is I tell him. And because we been traveling a long time I just asked if they had weekly rates just to see if we would stay just for one week. He is at first is reluncted to tell me . Then the lady I spoke to yelled in the background . " Oh who is that? I thought he said a couple nights? And the guys yes he did say that he is just asked . The lady screams "why is he asking that? Why does he want to know!! Why does he want to stay a week? How many kids he has and is screaming at the top of her lungs!! Of why I wanted to stay and why that. I felt so offended for onei. Am a coustmers with my family just looking to setting down for the Easter weekend . And it seems she is hiding things and gets so mad because I asked for the prices of a week. I have alo of friend and I will tell them about this place and make sure none one ever stays ever at this place !!

I stayed here for 3 days between dog shows. I left a well known campground, not the right fit. Hidden Acres took me in, accommodated my needs and requests and made me feel welcome. It is under new management and doing a lot of improvements. They have a ways to go but the pool water was clear and blue, bathrooms and showers were clean. Lawns are mowed and cared for.

By far one of the nicest campgrounds that we have ever stayed at. We lodged at on of the cabins located on the pond and it was absolutely beautiful. Very warm and cozy and the owner was very accommodating. Upon arrival we realized that we did not pack pillows or sleeping bags and they went out of their way to furnish us everything we needed. The campground made such an impression we are considering a weekend retreat every fall here. Absolutely breathtaking with the foliage turning and a cup of coffee on the front porch in the morning.
