Holbrook / Petrified Forest KOA Journey

If you're planning on going to the Petrified Forest, this KOA is definitely the place to be. If they stick you at the south side of the RV park, there's very few trees and no shade and while they have some wind breaks... the sites are super exposed to the wind. Also, pretty close to I-40 so if are sensitive to truck noise... worth knowing when you check in and request a different spot. The little Chuckwagon was a really nice touch for breakfast and dinner! Being able to get some hot food after a long day of traveling. The lady at the front desk, however, was odd. It was kind of like talking to a statue with no response. Thankfully the rest of the park staff were pretty nice. Overall, 4 out of 5.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The coin laundry was convenient, equipped with multiple machines. The pool area was clean and spacious, with ample seating. The playground was enjoyable, although it would have been better if it had been covered. Nevertheless, it still provided a fun experience. The cabin was aesthetically pleasing. The only issue we encountered was the water pressure, which was low and difficult to regulate. The hot and cold water were also hard to control. Despite this minor inconvenience, we would definitely choose to stay here again. Every other place we stayed afterward fell short of our expectations..

This campground gives you everything you need. Good location to Petrified Forest NP, clean, hot showers and bathrooms, and a great camping kitchen that you can do your dishes in! The office staff was very accommodating to us because we needed to leave our camper, go to the NP and then come back to pick it up. We were able to secure a late check out for a small fee. The entrance is super cute and welcoming by the way! I would recommend and come back to this campground

It would have been 5 stars, but the bathrooms need some work. The shower head to too close to the walls so you can't really stand back to shower like you would at home, water pressure is lacking as well. It was decently clean, and had hand soap and paper towels so that was good. The pull through space was awesome, even had a gas grill we used and beautiful trees and privacy fence to separate us from other campers. Overall, worth the stay!

I booked while driving straight off the website. Stayed one night in a cabin with a bathroom. We arrived after hours but our key was at the night check in. Grounds were clean and quite. Excellent view of the stars. This location is close to the highway but it was quite. Cabin was really clean. Bed linens were nice and comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Water pressure was good. Good value considering what local hotels wanted for a night stay. Local restaurants and fast food is minutes away.

Looking to spend a night or a few days this is the place to stop. We stay here for 4 days. This is a very nice KOA. Cabins of all sizes, RV spots of all sizes and some have private patios so very cool. We will be staying here soooooo many more times!

Really enjoyed our I've night stay here. We've stayed in a cabin before but never one with it's own bathroom. That was very convenient and if i have a choice in the future i will choose to stay in this kind of cabin. Checking in was easy and the employees were friendly. I slept really well but it is close to the highway so some people may want to bring rear l ear plugs.

Very clean park. Pull thru sites, full hookup. Wi Fi is weak, it pauses often and you wait and wait. Close to I-40 and train tracks. Noise level is not to bad. Train horn in the distance. Good for a night. We would stay again on way thru Holbrook AZ.

We enjoyed our overnight stay here. The deluxe tent campsites were well worth the somewhat higher price. These go fast as there are only two sites available. It was nice to have the amenities that normally are only associated with RV's. If you stay here, do not miss the breakfast service which was good and very reasonably priced. The only thing we found less than perfect was the location of electrical outlets which were far from the actual tent pads and requiring a long (

We were stopping for the night... On our way to California for a family visit. Pulled our camper van in for a quick overnight stay. Clean, organized, and quiet. Great stay.

Good campground for overnight stay. I’m torn between liking and not liking the location. I like it because it’s very accessible from I40 without being too noisy. I don’t like it because I felt like I’m in an abandoned location/wasteland. Well maintained bathroom. Friendly lady at the reception.

So far, my favorite KOA RV place. They valued my business and the staff was wonderful. I’m always a bit worried if I will be greeted by a stay that is professional or amateurs that take the gig to get free sites. The staff here, well trained professionals.

Booked a private patio site over 6 months in advance with a request to keep us as close to our 2 other traveling companions as possible. When we arrived, there was someone in our site, and our two companions were halfway across the park from us. No escorts, so a maintenance man helped us. Very friendly and helpful. Made multiple trips to the office. Moved us to a secondary patio site, smaller site, our rig didn't fit with the trailer, we had to store it off our site. Very inconvenient when I had called 3 weeks prior to verify we could have our trailer on our site because we keep our motorcycles in it. No compensation for the hour we wasted with all of this, or the inconvenience or the fact that they split us up. The rig in our assigned site was much smaller than ours, they were supposed to have checked out and didn't. They let them keep the bigger site an inconvenienced us. All that said, the park is neat and clean, the pool is great.

I stayed in one of the basic cabins. It was clean and quiet at night. The breakfast (biscuits and gravy with bacon) was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

When we arrived, the woman at the desk was very flustered. In the middle of checking me in, she had to ask me what she was doing (um, charging my card and using KOA points). She was pleasant enough, but that is not service. Then i had to hear about how another guest was unhappy with their spot and another worker had to move them, but there were only 4 open spaces. Using the KOA app to book the reservation, as I've done with dozens of other stays in other parks, the site said 35' equipment length (my trailer is 34.5')...but their little trees made parking the tow vehicle insanely tight (only 3 inches on each side of my truck between my trailer and the tree). Then when a rig towing a car parked in the site in front, I couldn't pull out until they did.
