Homer Spit Campground

Campground is in a great place. Bathrooms and sites were kept in good shape, but tightly spaced. However there was no way to contact staff during quiet hours to deal with people ignoring the quiet hour policy. We had four nights of respectful campers near us but the last night had campers next to us who were loud past quiet hours.

The main strength of this campground is its location, out on Homer Spit with great views and close to the tourist strip. The campsites are very small and there isn't a tree in the entire place. The shower stalls were very old and small, but the water was okay. I guess my only complaint was that too many campers were trying to burn wet wood or not splitting it into small enough pieces resulting in lots of very smokey fires making it hard to breath after a day or so.

It is amazing location it’s the tip of the map (land’s end). I never imagined we could be there twice- but had a privileged of fishing. I 💖 the dock in Homer it’s so pretty and cool place. It’s really nice place fishing on the dock ( 🍀 luck) locals & not locals fish on the dock most days it depends on the weather. The downside is when you eat at their restaurant like fish & chips aren’t affordable prices start $28 & up- served 16 oz of halibut or cod fish. I am not impressed ( if $ isn’t a problem u can indulge food @ anytime anywhere) other than that the dock has amenities like few flashable bathrooms on the side and a pathway for people like to go for walks- overall the mountains and ocean views are spectacular- it’s so neat place!

We stayed at the camp ground in an RV. They have decent shower facilities, laundry room, dump station and potable water. The campground is close to all the tourist shopping and food so it is easy to walk to wherever you want to go. There are charter boats to take you out fishing and that was a lot of fun. The only issue I had with the camp ground is whenever it rained we would have trouble with the power going to the RV. We would get a "shore power fault" that would not clear until the rain dried up. We saw some folks would cover the power box with plastic to eliminate the problem. Well worth doing so if you plan to stay there. I can imagine being so close to the ocean and salt that the electrical outlets are prone to corrosion and whenever it rains they can have power problems.

We love Homer Spit Campground! Everyone who works there is incredibly kind and does a great job keeping the place up—the bathrooms and showers are always very clean. Plus, there are beautiful, fun shops and cafés right on the Spit. Highly recommend!

I think you have two types of people in this world: vacationers and travelers. If you're a traveler type, this place is a gem! We spent 11 days in Alaska traveling by camper van, and this was probably our favorite campsite of the trip. The spaces are close together, but we didn't find this too bothersome with our set-up on the beachfront row. Bathrooms were kept pleasantly clean. The showers weren't scalding, but they were plenty warm for us. Having laundry facilities on site was also extremely handy, as this was about halfway through our trip. The campground was super convenient to multiple restaurants and shops (including delicious coffee at Mug Up w/ Salmon Sisters). But the biggest pro, in our opinion, was the WILDLIFE! From the seat of our van we were able to observe sea otters, harbor seals, harbor porpoises, and HUMPBACK WHALES! So, make sure to keep your eyes peeled and your binoculars handy the whole time! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This place definitely delivers! They have hot showers, plenty of room, Easy access to the beach a variety of sites. Whether it’s in a tent full hook up, partial hook up, or dry camping. Is walking up the spit with a variety of shops, places to eat, or boat charters.

It was a good location and close to everything on Homer Spit. Over crowded, our neighbors had their tent in our section, left trash on our side. Toilets were clean, but if you wanted to shower you had to pay more. We got a water front spot which was beautiful

This was a good stay. They have a nice gift shop, there’s also showers and laundry. Water was a bit cool. For tent camping you won’t get a better view. There are a lot of seagulls and the beach is a bit rocky. Look out for where you camp to avoid rough patches/rocky areas. Staff were friendly too! Primarily a camper truck/ rv park.

It was so fun to stay here! It was crowded, but the amazing location and view totally made up for it. Booking and check-in were simple, the bathrooms were nice, I didn't need to shower but my camp neighbors said the showers were great (no time limit on hot water). It was so fun to sit and watch the boats, the seals, the otters, the jumping salmon, and the sea-birds. Bring ear plugs; the seagulls never shut-up. The extra few bucks for the beachfront camping is worth it.

Stayed here two night. Got a waterfront spot which was great! Quiet hours didn’t seem to be enforced. Rude loud drunk people didn’t seem to care the rest of the campground wanted to sleep. Location is great! Campground is fine. Showers were freezing! It was the coldest shower I’ve ever had! Other reviews say nice hot showers, so lucky them! Over all I would stay here again just because the of the location.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this location deserves it. The camp site and view was beautiful, and the facilities, like the showers, laundry and bathrooms all work seamlessly. I stayed for a week and met almost every front desk person, and all of the ladies were so sweet and kind. Mostly I dealt with Lindsey, who is an angel!! We will definitely be back and I highly recommend you stay here.

The worst campground we’ve visited during three weeks in Alaska by a landslide. We left the campground heavily sleep deprived. There are other options in the area that are cheaper and are not worse. The beach can be accessed without setting foot in the campground. - the sites are tiny - noise way past midnight: people drinking, shouting, urinating on other people’s cars (not ours fortunately). The sober ones are blasting music or TV on high volume. - the WiFi is simply useless: if it connects, it’s too slow to load even a basic website - the restrooms and showers are super clean and the campground does deserve credit for this Overall, for 35$ or 50$ you don’t get a lot. If you just want to use the showers, you can pay 7$ at the front desk and you can spend your night somewhere more pleasant or at least less expensive.

We spent 3 days at the campground. Great location, you can walk to everything. Yes it’s very tight with the small beachfront sites but you get a picnic table and firepit right on the beach. And the views, wow! We are typically not RV park campers and prefer to boondock in remote locations but the location and scenery made it worthwhile. Despite it being 4th of July weekend, fellow campers were very respectful and it was surprisingly quiet. The staff are lovely and so helpful including fitting us in last minute. And did I mention the wonderful unlimited $2 hot showers? They were clean with multiple hooks to hang stuff up and even a swing down bench to keep things dry. Weather didn’t cooperate but we made the best of it. Definitely be prepared for rainy and chilly weather if a front rolls in!

Beautiful views! Great place to stay, though the sites are very packed and close, which would be expected based on location. The main issue is a known open ground in their electrical pedestals. Our 2022 Winnebago would not use their electric on 30A or 20A with or without an exterior surge protector. The surge protector showed no issues, but our built-in electronics detected this issue and would not charge our system or pass through electricity. Talking to the office, this is a known issue. Most rigs and setups just don't recognize it. Management made it right for us, but we had to go talk to them. Great place, but you may be using your generator if you have modern electronics in your rig.
