THE RESORT IS CLOSED!! we drove almost 4 hours for our reservation and found out when we pulled up to the entrance that the resort was closed. It would’ve been nice if they would’ve contacted me to let me know. I am thankful I got my money back.

Zero stars if we were allowed. Failed to let us know prior to booking/arrival that the waterpark was closed. They claim it was an automatic email but we got nothing other than the regular confirmation. The receptionist over the phone told us we could come before check in to get wristbands and swim until the room was ready. The waterpark was our reason for booking here, we would have gone somewhere else especially for the price. Rooms are run down definitely not worth the price. They need to add it to their website or call expected guests if they aren’t going to have one of the main amenities open.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this cabin! The location right on the lake was breathtaking, and the cabin itself was cozy, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed. Waking up to the sunrise over the water and enjoying coffee on the deck was pure bliss. The hosts were friendly, helpful, and attentive without being intrusive. The cabin had a perfect mix of comfort and charm, with plenty of space for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. Whether you want to fish, swim, or just unwind, this is the perfect spot. We left feeling completely refreshed and can’t wait to come back!

Will not be coming back! We camped at the RV park, due to it being one of the few places with full hookups around the lake. RV sites were nice with a view of the lake, but the fee is $59 per night, PLUS a $25 per night "Resort Fee." That makes the camping fee $84 per night! No way is this a destination RV park resort, similar to some KOAs or Glacier National Park where we spent that much for an RV site. The water park was closed, and we used NO other amenities at the resort. We did spend over $100 in the Prairie Rose restaurant at the resort, with marginal food and service. I have been told the Resort Fee is mandatory for all guests for maintenance and upkeep of the resort. So, why not just includes it in the upfront fees, instead of burying this charge in the Resort Policies?? Needless to say, we will NOT being staying here again! We found that Honey Creek State Park, just a few miles down the road, has some full hookup sites for only $30 per night, so that will be our destination from now on when we often visit our family in Centerville. It's no wonder Honey Creek Resort can't make it!

This resort was a GREAT place for us, our 4 kids and seven small granddaughters. The full suite was PERFECT for a gathering place for all of us for meal times. The kids loved the beach, water park, paddle boats and train ride. The park with a shelter was close enough to enjoy a couple of times, too. The staff was super friendly and patient with all of our kiddos. I highly recommend this place!

I really want to love this place but it lacks in so many areas. The waterpark has really limited hours even on the weekends, Only open 11-7. The restaurant had ok food at best. They had a breakfast buffet and lunch and dinner. The service was really slow. Tables were dirty, lipstick on a coffee mug ect. Food was pretty bland especially for a $38 steak. With some changes this place could be amazing again

Deer galore! :) Check-in was great Pam was very friendly and nice. This property is BEAUTIFUL nothing I expected coming down the lane. I didn’t stay in a cabin, I stayed in a resort lake facing patio room but the cabins look very modern, actually brand new! Beds are comfy, it’s quiet, rooms are nice I’d say standard size. The golf course looked really nice passing by. I’d absolutely recommend and stay here again.

1st time I have ever been here. We stayed the weekend for their Valentine's Day special. I have mixed opinions about what kind of review to leave. The facility is beautiful, but needs some upkeep. The food at the restaurant was good, but the servers were inexperienced. The water park is nice, but it also needs some upkeep. Long story short, I see the potential for this resort to go either way. It could easily get better with a little TLC and better marketing, but if they don't start the upkeep now it could get worse quickly. They had a Carrie Underwood cover entertainer from Branson that was good and the owner of the management company gave a nice speech about how they are planning on turning the resort around. The location is great and the views are amazing. I will come back this summer to check out the lake, trails, and golf course. I will update my review after a summer visit.

The small kids area of the water park is closed, life guards are pretty strict about petty rules. For example, you're child is allowed to ride the water slide at 42" tall but the bottom of the slide is 42" deep so if your kid is barely tall enough to ride the slide you'll most likely have to catch them at the bottom which is "against the rules". Tried the walleye fish & chips, breading was great but beware of your fish being ridden with bones. Personally I can't enjoy a crunchy breading wondering if it's bones I'm crunching on

Overall we enjoyed ourselves, went for my daughter’s 9th birthday. Very disappointed that the water park closed at 7 pm on a Saturday. Went down to eat dinner at 645 and the host stated that the main chef had left because he was salary. So we had to go elsewhere for dinner. The rooms were clean, and the place is beautiful, just wish those two parts were different.
