Hotel Carmacks

The room was great (I liked the layout of the room, the coffee maker and microwave having their own little area, as weird as that sounds lol), quiet and clean. Parking was easy. There was also a riverside walking path right behind the building, as well as a general store (with some souvenirs too) in front. Check in was a little confusing, but noticed a sign saying to check in at the attached pub, and that was quick and easy. Decent food too. It's (I believe) the only hotel option in Carmacks, but luckily it's a solid choice either way, with everything you could need for an overnight. Would stay again.

We stayed here on a business trip which was a bit wierd as in we stopped and got a room 1st, told the guy at the desk we wouldn't be back till late as we were grabbing 2 pizzas from the place down the street and heading up a mining road to meet a crew about a placer gold claim. The guy at the desk said the room wasn't ready yet as we were there a bit to early but he marked down the room number and security code for the door and said if we were really late to go next door in the bar and the bartender would let us in to the hotel side...well we got in real late and sure enough the bartender was aware of us and also that the hotel had to give us a different room with a different security code and the barkeep had it all in hand. They had also sent us a voicemail and an email but we were way out of service where we had went so knew nothing until we got back to the hotel. Anyways, it all worked out great, the room was perfect and we will definitely be staying here when we make these trips north.

Had a great stay here. They were very accommodating considering we came in really late and didn't book ahead. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I was really glad they had a room because there is really nothing else available this time of year in the Carmacks area.

We booked a basic cabin for a one night stay between Whitehorse and Dawson City. The room had 2 comfortable double beds, fan for cooling,a heater, large dresser, chair, sink in the room, a full bathroom and 2 night stands. Had to ask for a coffee maker but the supplies were in the room. Landline phone in the room. TV needed a new coax cable to work properly but we had a work around with a laptop. Nice location across the quiet street from the Yukon River. On site, the lounge/bar had a good selection of drinks and 2 free, albeit aged, pool tables. Food at the restaurant next door, The Goldpanner, was pleasantly good and generous. Lots of parking for vehicles and some rv hook ups. The only problem is the water for hot showers is limited and it smells of Sulphur. That's a local issue, not a hotel issue.

We stayed in one of the little “cabins” behind the main hotel. Our cabin was simple but comfortable and quiet. The Yukon River is very close to the hotel and cabins so you can enjoy a nice evening/morning walk there. The front desk staff were helpful and went out of their way to get us what we needed.
