Camped for several nights, RV and a tent. We went up without a reservation mid week, and still had limited options for sites because so many were reserved for the weekend. We ended up in a spot without trees, which was a bummer, but doable with a canopy and awning on the rv. Beautiful campground. Kids had a blast in the river, catching crawdads, frogs, snails and clams. Lots of wild life to see. There was a bear wandering the campground at night looking for food, which it found at a few different sites. He was in our site at least 2 nights, but moved along when he didn't find anything. Clean up and store your food properly! I will absolutely go back.

Beautiful campground! No cell service, which was amazing! Hosts were friendly. C49 is a great spot with a shelter over the picnic table, close to the river and bathroom. We would definitely return for another camping trip!

If I could give zero stars I would! This place has been destroyed by the Forest Service, Camp Reserve America and the local contractor. BEWARE THERE ARE NO TENT SITES NOW AND THE SAME CONTRACTOR IS DOING BIG HANK AS WELL.

Kit Price used to be a beautiful campground. Sadly they cut down a lot of the trees, leaving no privacy and very little shade between most sites in loops B and C. The river is still amazing and beautiful and great for kids. We had elk roam through both days we were there. Friendly camp host. Clean facilities.

They've cleared all the trees and not just selectively logged either. The campground is an utter joke now. Wood left everywhere to just rot besides some piles they're willing to sell off as firewood, huge tree just cut down and left laying on the ground, a lot of the picnic tables are in disrepair, weeds are growing directly in the campsites where the roots literally catch around your foot. They have ruined what used to be a very nice place in our beautiful state. Sad!

We had camped at Kit Price for years. Loved the shaded beautiful sites. Went there this week and didn't even recognize the place. It is awful! Whoever was in charge of that project should be fired. That campground will not come back for decades. I feel very sorry for the camp hosts having to field the broken hearted people who arrive and are shocked at was was done to the place. We will not be going back. Whoever is overseeing this should be ashamed.

So booked a weekend here based on photos of obviously past years, but took a drive up to check it out prior to our reservations. Glad I did! Horrible, small trees no shade, ugly is the only way I can describe it. Looks like it was logged, river access was not great either. Canceled our reservation.

6/12/2020 Kit Price had been closed for the prior 2 years to clear unsafe trees. The logging operation has left it in a terrible state this year. In our site (A12) we were unable to find ground even enough to pitch a tent due to ruts left from the logging. We ended up pitching it on the asphalt parking area. There are only a couple sites remaining with any shade available so the summer RV campers will suffer from the heat for many years to come until regrowth occurs. Now the good news. It is said that the Forest Service is planning to close the campground in the future, perhaps 2021, to install new tables, fire rings, paved parking spurs and restrooms. All sites will be made accessible. There's a lot of wood piled at most sites from the logging but the fire ring length rounds are too thick to burn as is so bring a splitting maul and wedge to take advantage of it. The hosts have been there in years past and are very nice and congenial while doing their best to deal with the mess that was left for them to deal with this year.

This once gorgeous campground has been decimated by the Forest Service. The trees that provided shade and the brush that provided privacy are gone. It's now clear cut. While they indicated many of the old growth trees were diseased, it shouldn't have required that level of take down. Another beautiful campground gone.

It just might be the most enjoyable campground my wife and I have ever experienced. Our site had abundant trees, and there was a comfortable distance between us and neighbor campers. The river was a short stroll away, and it's calm enough to plop down chairs, cool off your feet, and savor the scenery. The host family was very friendly and helpful, too.

DO NOT TURN OFF MAIN ROAD IF YOU GOOGLE DIRECTIONS. Otherwise was a good campsite. Clean, nice hosts, short walk to river access from any site.

Been going here for years fantastic place to swim, hike, or fish. Large sites that are well maintained. Several have private beaches attached to them.
