Such a beautiful beach. Reminds me of my time in Florida spent along the rock jetties. My young daughter loves to play with the rocks and sand. On a hot summer day the cold water feels so refreshing.

The particular day I went (late Sept) was sumy because I was in the area for something else. There was almost no one on the beach. It was a beautiful day, so I paced the shore for a bit before laying out a blanket to read and listen to the waves rolling in. I couldn't stay long but it looked like a beautiful park and would definitely go back 😊

A Pleasant, Spotless Day by the Lake Michigan Shore I recently spent a wonderful afternoon at Adeline Jay Geo-Karis Illinois Beach State Park and was genuinely impressed. The environment felt incredibly peaceful and well cared for—everything was clean from the beach to the surrounding trails. What stood out most was how pleasant the experience was. The shoreline was inviting and perfect for unwinding, while the well-maintained amenities added to the enjoyment. Whether you’re camping, strolling along the dunes, or simply relaxing with a scenic view, this park delivers without fuss. Great for a solo escape or a quiet outing with loved ones—definitely worth a visit if you’re near Zion.

Favorite beach out of all of the other ones. It's completely free and well kept / clean, but there's no life guards. The beach is very sandy and has a lot of space where you can walk or swim. There are some seagulls, so be careful around your food. There's not a lot of them though and they're easily avoidable by moving a few feet

For city folks who miss the ocean, this beach delivers. Sand was soft and pebbles were smooth near the shore. Free admission, bathrooms available. No showers or running water. Bring your own water or a bag to fill and wash feet at car. Camp/Beach store is only open Thursday - Sunday.

I really love this campground and its proximity to the lake and hiking trails. It’s my favorite place in the area. We try to come here at least once a year. Our plan is usually to pick a campsite in and around site 250, which has pines sheltering the spaces. These sites are also near a bathroom/shower house. However, this bathroom has been shut down for plumbing problems. We camped last May, and same issue. I knocked off a star because the campground is sprawling and having a shower house that’s broken is unacceptable for this length of time. I can’t imagine how crazy the bathrooms must be in the peak of the summer. Illinois does a pretty terrible job with their state park bathrooms. Now ILSP is down to one barebones shower house that’s pretty mediocre. 3 toilets, 3 showers. We keep coming back, regardless. Campers beware though, the bathroom situation is tough.

Had to walk a bit to find some rocks and found a patch, so I was happy. It was a bit windy and cold, but it was worth it!
