International Peace Garden Campground
Overview
The International Peace Garden Campground offers a rare opportunity to stay directly within a botanical garden that straddles the border of Canada and the United States. This peaceful retreat allows RVers to immerse themselves in a landscape dedicated to international friendship. The atmosphere is quiet and contemplative, surrounded by lush gardens and the rolling hills of the Turtle Mountain region, providing a unique sense of place for travelers.
Location & Surroundings
Situated south of Boissevain, MB, the park occupies a unique position on the 49th parallel. Travelers find themselves surrounded by dense forests and shimmering lakes. The campground is located inside the International Peace Garden, meaning guests can walk directly from their sites to explore thousands of acres of manicured floral displays and wild, rugged terrain. Because it is a border destination, visitors should be prepared with proper documentation for re-entry into their respective countries.
Amenities & Park Features
The campground caters to various needs with a mix of full-hookup RV sites and unserviced areas for a more rustic experience. Each site typically includes a picnic table and fire ring for evening relaxation under the stars. On-site facilities provide clean modern washrooms and showers, ensuring comfort during your stay. The park is designed to accommodate different rig sizes, offering a stable and scenic base while you explore the Conservatory or the cafe located within the main garden grounds.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Staying here provides instant access to the Sunken Garden, which serves as the focal point of the property. Guests can hike or bike the extensive trail network that weaves through the Turtle Mountain forest or visit the moving 9/11 Memorial. For plant enthusiasts, the conservatory houses one of the world’s most significant collections of cacti and succulents. Beyond the garden gates, the nearby town of Boissevain offers local charm, museums, and essential services for restocking supplies.
Who This Park Is Best For
This location is ideal for nature lovers and history buffs who appreciate a slower, more intentional pace of travel. It is a fantastic choice for families looking for an educational experience or couples seeking a romantic, quiet getaway among the flowers. If you value scenic solitude and cultural significance over resort-style water parks or high-traffic amenities, this unique international site will fit your travel style perfectly.

So many beautiful flowers! The Chokecherry ice cream in the café is the best ice cream I've ever had. The chapel at the far end of the garden holds a lot of intrigue (and a lot of echoes!), and there are several interesting stops when you drive the ND side of the garden. This experience was so good, on so many levels. I can't wait to return! Because you leave the United States to enter the Garden, bring your Real ID driver's license, or driver's license and birth certificate (if you don't have Real ID), or your passport for re-entry into the US.

Beautiful place, but for a one-time visit. This place is like a provincial park. Wild nature in many places. Plenty of picnic spots. On the border of the USA and Canada there are amazing and long flower beds. The park has a beautiful gallery of succulents.

We drove here on a Saturday from Minot, ND. If you drive here make sure you have a valid Passport or some kind of form of identification to enter back into the states. Aside from that, this park is beautiful. It's large and the gardens are truly breathtaking. We went during the end of August once the leaves started changing colors and it's truly a beautiful place to go have a picnic or just enjoy the scenery. I'm from Texas and down there we have the Botanical gardens, but this place was even better in my opinion. Quiet, and so peaceful. I'm definitely coming back again. Also I'd like to add that there's so many wild turkeys roaming about, be careful not to let them in the gardens.

Love it!!! It looked and smelled amazing. The storybook features were nice to see. Great place for a picnic or just sit and relax. The Wardens and 9/11 Memorials were nice to see and pay respect to. They had a great play area for kids to play, and the restrooms we covenant and clean. We would love to come back and spend more time exploring this beautiful area.

Very peaceful and serene stay at the campground. Enjoyed exploring the Peace Gardens! Plenty of restrooms and picnic/play areas around the gardens. The cafe is expensive but good. No ice on the premises to purchase so be sure to take it with you from Dundsieth before going to the garden; its about a 15 min drive.
