great rock climbing. Stunning view no matter which side of the lake you're on, as long as you can find some high ground to look from.

What's great about this place is that they have a lot of very nice first come first serve spots. You'd probably stay here if you're doing the hike to Gem lake.Theres an extra bonus -the North fork of the river runs through here and there's a gorgeous trail that's quite long and shady all along the river. The camp host is very helpful. Good place to stay if you want to walk the trail it's just a few minutes away by car and the road is very doable.

There are some really fantastic and somewhat secluded Walk in sites at this campground. (There are also some weird spots that are right on the parking area, so choose wisely- if this is your thing, then great). The campground hosts Jean and Luis are absolutely the best! So friendly and they keep the grounds and bathrooms in tip top shape. Bring bug spray. Also there’s a small store at the rock Creek resort nearby, that you can purchase camping basics like bug spray, and delicious cobbler! And please remember, never leave your campfire unattended, DROWN your campfire when you leave!! They even provide buckets at each campsite for you to do so. This place is beautiful and special.

One of my favorites in the Eastern Sierra, beautiful, clean, and well managed!

Spent four nights tent camping here in late July. Very scenic, near lots of good hiking including an easy walk around the lake. Plenty of people fishing and paddling on the lake. Sadly the snow this year made it too cold for swimming. Campsites 21 through 26 are walk-in, meaning hauling your stuff about 500 feet from the parking area and a good walk from potable water and non-bush toilets. Site 26 is a bit up hill. Campsites each have a large bear box. Overall a great place. Next year I'll come later in the season for hoping for a slightly a warmer lake and less mosquitoes.

This is an amazing campground for tents, vans and very small trailers. A bit of a drive to a town with facilities. The road out to this campground is wide and very well maintained. The lake is very beautiful! If you want a remote, beautiful, clean camping spot, this is it.

Great time there but make sure to reserve your spot or else you might only get the spot for one day.

So many beautiful things to say about this place where do I begin. The fishing is excellent, lots of wildlife and beautiful scenery. Children friendly, campgrounds are all amazing. Be sure to drink lots of fluids and bring electrolytes (gatorades) this place is dry and will pull all the fluids from you. Nights are cold so bundle up. Bear country so be prepared. Its normal to see people with firearms for safety here.

This place is top notch for a walk-in campground and is so gorgeous all around the lake. I even went for a quick five minute swim. My only complaint was that the mosquitoes were a nuisance when at the campsite during breakfast and preparing the campfire/dinner. I would recommend bringing plenty of bug spray to sustain you for your entire stay here.
