Inyo/Twin Lakes RV Camping in Mammoth Lakes, CA

Tina and Jeff were some of the best camp hosts we've ever met. They were full of information about the surrounding area and accommodated us with a camp site even though it was full. It's a beautiful campground abd you can take a trolley from the CG into town.

Showed up to our tent campsite only to find that every restroom in the campground is closed because sewage is reportedly leaking into the lake where people are fishing, swimming, and boating. There was absolutely no notification before we arrived, despite having a reservation.

To make matters worse, the camp host wasn't at their post, so there was no one available to explain the situation or answer questions.

How is this not considered a serious public health issue? If the restrooms are unusable, why are you still allowing people to check in without providing portable toilets? People who have already set up camp are going to find out later tonight that they have nowhere to use the restroom. That's completely unacceptable and shows a lack of planning and communication.

I took photos of the closed restroom signs because this situation is hard to believe. Campers deserve to be notified before they arrive so they can decide whether they still want to stay under these conditions.

Jeff and Tina were great hosts. This is the best campground I’ve ever been to. Great store, great location, and great gumdrops.

Twin Lakes Campground is one of the most peaceful places I've visited. I spent my days relaxing by the lake, watching the beautiful mountains, and enjoying the quiet surroundings. There was very little cell service, which actually made the experience even better because I could completely unplug and enjoy nature. The campground was clean, the restrooms were well maintained, and the scenery was stunning. I can't wait to come back again.

I can’t say enough great things about Twin Lakes Campground starting with my interaction with one of the Host on site and the care he showed me. His name is “Walter.” I am a solo camper & this was my first camping trip of the year and I am over 70 years young. The temperature dropped below 30 degrees and he took the time to come & check on me to make sure I was safe & see if I needed blankets because the weather changed quickly plus snow was coming. I said that I could use some and the next thing I knew 2 heavy blankets were delivered. I believe he “saved” my life that night (4/26/2026) … I just wanted to say THANK YOU for your kindness and caring spirit. The campsite & guest are blessed to have people like you. And I must say when leaving I returned the blankets the next morning (snow on the ground & freezing weather I meet another Host who also showed kindness & and a surprising young couple who showed this “ole lady” (me 😳) how to get out of the site to return home made the trip one not to ever forget!!! Thanks to all for being such a great team. I wish I could give 10 stars. I would recommend the Twin Lakes Campgrounds if you’re looking for a good spot with people who care about your experience in nature.

The campsites were well maintained with very level parking areas. The bathrooms were clean and well kept. Even though the campground was full, it was still reasonably quiet and peaceful. I would absolutely camp here again!

Excellent campground by a cute lake. Very clean, perfect location for relaxation and day hikes, peaceful, shaded. I couldn't recommend it enough.

The hardest working camp hosts (Mike?) I have met. Always clean bathrooms even when the camp was full. The location is hard to beat with the proximity to Mammoth yet tucked away at Twin Lakes. Just please be a respectful visitor and store your food properly in the provided bear boxes. Bears live here and this is their home. Respect them.

Despite the rain, thunder, lighting and hail we had such a great time. The camp sites are so well taken care of. We have been camping all over in many states and by far the best and cleanest bathrooms.
The camp hosts Ralph and Virgina are so helpful and nice.
We needed a fire starter for the camp fire and they gave us their own personal. Super kid friendly there were plenty of kids our kids made friends with.
Definitely coming back. Mammoth is one of our favorite places but the cleanliness, great camp hosts and not too many bugs were great. We went end of August. Adventure Awaits!

What a great campground.  Peaceful, quiet and just enough. Bike paths are great and mtn bike trails easily accessible.   Hiking paths if you choose.  Check in a breeze with wonderful "southern" hospitality from the camp hosts. Dog friendly and wonderful folks to talk with while you're strolling along. We had sun for solar and never needed the generator. Though not all spots are sunny. We saw a deer in our campsight arriving late.  So nice to see. The next day as we were going out we saw a small bear cub near tamarak bike kayak rentals. The staff was chasing him away. Lots of posting for the bears btw. Sad, the tamale lady has retired from the general store. We already planning our return.

Bathrooms where very clean and well kept, trash taken out twice a day. The camp host came by often and asked how we where doing, their black lab Buddy was super friendly and they walked him by having him off leash walking/trotting next to the golf cart. He was very cute. Very dog friendly and very nice. Cheap sites for weekend, honor policy with firewood, $8 or $30 for 4 bundles. Wood lasted all weekend with extra.

Stayed here two nights with friends & family in our tents. The waterfall generates enough white noise that you feel that you are the only ones camping. Even though it was booked solid we never heard a single sound from another campsite.

USE THE BEAR BOXES!! Our first night we were woken up to the sound of one trying to break a bear 🐻 box open. Although you may not see them, they are EVERYWHERE & are pretty good are being very quiet.

The water is nice & clear as no motorized watercraft is allowed. My kids really enjoyed the freedom of being able to pop their Paddleboards in the water & cruise around exploring.

We will definitely be back again.

This place is serene!!!! The waterfall and people amazing!!! Is a first come first serve basis!! This is self explanatory!!! I had a wonderful time and the hosts are great!!!

Amazing campground! Great views,  clean and spacious campsites, bathrooms are well maintained, perfect location to opt outside and walk around, fish, and enjoy the beautiful outdoors! Views from the bridge at dawn and dusk are absolutely surreal and breathtaking...definitely would return here!

Awesome campground with beautiful waterfall and a ton of birding opportunities.  I had 2 different campsites here and there were in great condition.  I really liked that there is flushing toilets and running water spigots nearby.  The sites were well spaced apart and I had a lot of privacy between my neighbors.  The general offers canoe and kayak rentals and there is plenty of opportunities to hike within near the campground and fish.  I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to camp in the Mammoth Lakes area.  Got some great star photography in too.  Surprisingly not too buggy given the proximity to the lake.
