This is a large, very clean park with restrooms. We went there to watch a SpaceX launch and spend the day on the beach. There was a $12 charge per car.

This was our first time to visit this area. The beach was great, full of families and clean. The peer was really cool to explore and to watch the launch of the SpaceX rocket. A treat indeed. I recommend this as the best viewing area for the rocket launches and for excellent fishing.

Don't love that you have to pay to get to this area of the island. We went here for people to fish at the Jetty's and to see the statue. While waiting, some of us went to the beach. There are amenities at this beach that were nice such as showers and someone selling ice cream - but the location being so close to the Jetty's made the surf really calm and kinda boring compared to beaches further north that had nice waves. Good beach for little kids with an insane amount of seashells.

We had a nice time here. Our site C193, had a great location near the sidewalk path and not too far from the bathhouse. The bathhouse near us had 2 separate rooms, one with 2 stalls and the other with 3 showers. The showers were large and made it easy enough to bath me and my daughter. They were pretty old and cracked though so that is the only complaint there. There was a code to get into both. The beach access, jetty, and lagoon area were enjoyable. The time we were there a lot of tar was washing up on the beach and we weren't aware of what it was and we had a hard time cleaning it off. The reason for the 4 star rating is because of the check in process and the entry into the park. We were never told check in was before arrival at the gate. The rude person at the gate then made us go back, which required a complete drive through the park as there was no way to turn around in our large RV. When we got to check in, there was a long line and it took over a half an hour. Each time we entered the park there was a long line at entry and it would be nice if there was a separate entrance for those with passes who didn't need to pay. All in all we had a great time, but those inconveniences made entering the park a hassle. Beautiful sunrise over the Gulf, sunset over the bay, and it's cool watching the large container ships through the canal

My husband and I stayed here for a few weeks in January and had a great experience. There is easy access to the beach and a nice boardwalk if you don't want to walk in the sand. Because we came off season, a lot of places were closed or had limited hours, but we enjoyed walking into town. There's also a free trolley that was really convenient. Checking in was a little confusing. We ended up at the guard shack and were told we needed to turn around and check in at the building on the corner. The bathrooms and park were well maintained.

Location is incredible. Lots of sharp burr that punctures your feet and brings it inside. The grounds are not as well kept. A lot of deferred maintenance is visible everywhere. Yet the county has money to build a state of art administration building soon. The electric, water, sewer and cable works just fine. Staff is patient and friendly enough with their outdated campground reservation/check in and check out process. It took me nearly an hour at their office just to move from one site to another, requiring a separate deposit for electricity — despite having excess funds in my account. They say they can’t move the deposit so they will have to mail me check, taking 6-8 weeks. They need someone to take a step back and take a look at how their computer system process works and streamline it further. Yet I’ll put it up because the location can’t be beat. Incredible value for a beachfront RV campground.

Seems there are a lot of long term residents here . We had a decent site, where we could see the bay. It was lovely. That was an advantage. However, on our site, someone (a previous full timer?) constructed a platform and built it around the picnic table, they are both falling apart. The picnic table was unmovable and right next to the sewer of the site next door. For $80 a night, I expected something better. Check in is a disaster if you follow the GPS. We went to the "gate" to the park, where we were informed we needed to go around the entire park and back out to the registration office. I had to call 2 times to find out exactly where it was. It's in front of the KOA, in a white building with a blue roof. On the side of the building is says Registration Office, but it is easy to miss. They told me it was the parking lot right before the Ice Machine. They should include specific instruction to the registration office when you reserve a site.

Nice park. Too much paperwork for camping 6-7 pages to read and sign.. They do charge for electric $15 deposit for the week we were there, you must read your own meter at the end of your stay.. You will reimbursed for the difference but they will send you a check 6-8 weeks, not sure about credit card but you don't have to pay more if you use a credit card. The beaches are very busy with campground and outside (no biggie). Also go to the office first to check in.. Which is just next to the KOA!

Electrical service and water is a little run down.
