I received a promotional offer for a free room, as I have received many times before for this property to redeem. I have always enjoyed the atmosphere and food that the resort offers. My recent visit I booked a room from 10/24-10/26. Once making it to my room it was very dark in the room. I proceeded to open the curtains to the window and seen an excessive amount of dead flies in the window sill. I was immediately grossed out by this, so I grabbed tissue cleaned off the window sills and used Clorox wipes and wiped down the entire room. I went down stairs to the gaming floor and played for a bit. I came back up maybe after an hour or so and noticed a few flies flying around. I got courious and went back over by the window and to my surprise it was FLOODED again with some dead and live flies. I was not happy at this point, so I called downstairs and spoke with the front desk clerk explaining the situation and she gave off the attitude that I was the hundredth call and she didn’t want to hear about this issue again. I asked her for another room, and she stated that ALL the rooms had flies and that this was the season. This gave me the impression that there was nothing she could do. Myself and my guest had to tolerate a fly infested room for 3 days and 2 nights. We had asked other random guests that we had seen in the food venues, casino floor, and in the pool area if that had issues with flies, and they all looked surprised and stated that they had not. Some of these guests stayed on the same part of the resort that we were on and some were not. I was was just over the stay at this point, so on Sunday I was just ready to go back home. As we were walking out we seen the housekeepers and asked about the fly situation and the housekeeper replied Yes! room 1268 is the WORST room. My friend strongly urged me to speak with management regarding our stay. I spoke with Debbie and she didn’t seem surprised about the concern we had, but was very bothered by how her staff handled the situation. She asked us if the front desk clerk made us aware that they were full Friday . I stated no she did not. Debbie asks another question. Did she offer maintenance to do a treatment for the flies, and I stated no! We were never given that option. Debbie shook her head and apologized again. I explained how gross this was to encounter. They were literally everywhere. How could you bathe and they we’re flying above you head in the shower, and 2 were dead at the bottom of the tub. You could not leave drinks open or anything uncovered. Live flies flew into a personal ziplock bag of mine that had tooth flossers that I left ope accidentally. I had to throw them all away. Debbie offered a $50 refund as that was the height of her authority to approve for a dissatisfied guest. She explained that if we were looking at something above that she would need to reach out to upper leadership. I stated ok and that is what I wanted to do as I wasn’t satisfied with just the $50. I offered to show her the pictures that I had took but she never asked to see them. Debbie also stated that it was the season and farmers do this and farmers do that. As of a way to justify I felt what we had endured. As a guest I had not intended on booking a room and sharing it with pests. It felt like the room was outdoors. A few questions I had that couldn’t be answered were .If this room is the WORST why is it being booked out to guests without a disclaimer at least? Why wasn’t I offered another room on Saturday? Why as a guest was I not better accommodated? Guests that redeem these free night stays go to a particular part of the resort that is less appealing? I would have gladly paid for both nights if I knew I would not have to stay with pests. End result was I was only given the $50 discount that Debbie offered in the beginning, so her reaching out to upper leadership was pointless, and they still allowed a guest to leave unhappy, and as a result of that I will definitely think twice about returning and recommending this this place to friends and family for a vacation.

Out of all the casinos around the area, this is my go to. The rooms are in the Palm Towers are great, however, on the rooms are in the Sun Tower are definitely outdated. I have never had an issue with food from The Reed, sports bar, or the steakhouse. The casino floor is fairly big, atleast bigger than the other ones around. Overall would recommend a trip here

Check in staff were efficient. Rooms were clean and equipped with a small coffee maker, fridge and hair dryer. Bed was comfortable. It was quiet on the 11th floor. Breakfast in the restaurant was ample. The coffee flowed and they had liquid creamer!!! It was a nice place to stay in Bark River.

Stayed a week ago for my birthday. Got a room on the 12th floor disastrous. Open the curtains about 20 flies and other flying bugs came flying out. Called the front desk they said oh that’s this time of year refused to stay in the room. The ceiling tiles were pushed up and bugs were crawling in and out. The carpet was filthy. They did give us another room on the ninth floor still found a couple flies and then to top it off, We wanted to go in the hot tub and it was Not running. Had fun in the casino, but that was about it. Two of the restaurants were closed. stayed in the other tower about a month ago and everything was fine. Will never stay in the old tower again.

Rooms are nice- nothing fancy. We had the Golf Suite. Lots of room- it can sleep 6 people. Hotel is nice, casino has a good selection of machines. Several choices for food options. Portions are big and food is reasonably priced. FYI for the Stay and Play package, nobody seems to know what's going on with it or how to use it. Just use your room key to make charges to your room.
