When we first arrived we arrived late due to car troubles. We called the after hours number and they told us how to check in from there.(first timers)The next morning we broke down at the entrance trying to go to a mechanic, everyone was so helpful and kind in helping us including the guests. The maintenance man with the long hair came in big time with helping us with a few extra tools. So blessed to have broke down where we did. The park was extremely clean and very beautifully! We will be back!!

We liked this park so well that we extended our stay. It is quiet, but still close to the beach and shopping. They have a heated pool, daily trash pickup and will even come to your site to get your LP tanks to take them up to fill them. Don’t forget to bring your bikes to ride the nice trail from the park clear down to Gulf Shore State park!

It was our first stay here. We stayed on site 172. Level concrete pad, with power pedestal, cable, water and sewer, all conveniently located, and in great condition. We did not use the cable, and the wifi at our site was always good. Had a propane tank filled while we were there. Reasonably priced! Everything was very convenient, clean, and quiet. We will most Definately be return customers.

First time in Gulf Shores and we took camper to this great campground. It was about a mile from the beach and it was off the main road into town so it was convenient but enough to be peaceful & quiet. I was impressed with the campground and really liked it. It was not small or large but just enough sites to be nice. They have a small dog run area, a nice heated swimming pool, a big rec room, cornhole/horseshoe area, picnic table area, etc. Most of the sites were either partially concreted or fully concreted....not many were shaded but we went at a pleasant time temperature wise. The office staff was pleasant and they maintained the grounds well. They do have some entertainment events but we didn't participate due to other plans. I would recommend staying at this campground.

We absolutely loved our stay at Island Retreat! The pool and playground were perfect for our kids. The entire place was very clean, both the guests and employees were kind and it was quiet and peaceful all night long. My kids wanted to see the beach, so we took a quick Uber to The Hangout for a really fun evening of walking the beach at sunset and having a great dinner before Ubering back. About $15 for a Uber XL each way. Would definitely come back again!

We just completed our 2 week stay at Island Retreat RV Park... What a nice park. It is a great, clean, and friendly park. Both the management of the park and the park residents are so friendly. You go home feeling like you just left your favorite small town. We hope to return soon. Thank you Island Retreat!

Very nice stop for a week in Gulf Shores, AL. Less than 3 miles to accessible beautiful, sandy beaches and Gulf State Park. Great location, close to stores and restaurants, but a mile down the road in the country. Bike trail and a small park across the street on the lagoon. Lots of seasonal and longer-term campers, with a daily calendar of community events and activities. Clean, well-kept & well-managed RV park. Cute pool area! We had no trouble getting in & out in 40’ Class A with toad. Sites are large and have a picnic table and fire ring. We were on the outside row, in front of a fence with very active birds and noisy wildlife behind it. Sounded like Jurassic Park over there, at times, but it was pretty cool.😉

We will return often. The area is very well kept. Team members are friendly and very helpful. Upon arrival we received a special treat for our pup. It’s those little things that make the campground stand out.

We just completed our second time here…two weeks, which wasn’t nearly long enough!! We’ve already booked a month next year! The resort is beautiful and clean…the grounds are well cared for…not to mention a great location close to everything. We stayed in late January and found it to be peaceful and filled with many “long-termers”, and everyone is friendly and helpful. After just two times here, we feel very much “at home!

We stayed at Island Retreat RV Park for 2 1/2 weeks. It was our first time there and we were very pleased with the park. Even though we didn't use the bathhouse or laundry, they were clean and updated. The staff was always friendly and willing to help with any needs we had. They had a Thanksgiving luncheon for the guests that included fried turkey, spiral ham and all the fixings for just $5 a person. It was really good and included a one man band singing to us the whole time. It has a small dog park, good for small dogs. Our dog was allowed to play frisbee outside of the park on the grassy area. She is very athletic and needed more space. There is a great dog friendly park with a beach right across the road from the park that we took our dog to daily. The water pressure and quality are great. Get a premium site if you go, they are updated with concrete and a nice picnic table. We stayed in site 130 and it backed up to a wooded area and gave the front of the rig sunshine.
