Jinglepot RV Park & Campgrounds

Overview

Jinglepot RV Park & Campgrounds offers a lush, park-like environment characterized by its award-winning landscaped gardens and vibrant flower displays. Located in the heart of Vancouver Island, this family-owned destination provides a peaceful retreat for travelers seeking natural beauty without sacrificing modern comforts. The park is well-known for its serene koi pond and manicured grounds, making it feel more like a botanical garden than a traditional campground. It serves as a quiet sanctuary where guests can relax among mature trees and meticulously maintained greenery.

Location & Surroundings

The park is conveniently situated in Nanaimo, providing easy access to the Departure Bay Ferry Terminal and the Inland Island Highway. Despite its proximity to urban amenities and major transportation routes, the setting remains remarkably quiet and secluded. Guests are surrounded by the natural beauty of the Jingle Pot valley, with views of the rugged Vancouver Island landscape nearby. The location strikes a perfect balance between being a practical stop for those arriving by sea and a scenic base for exploring the central island region.

Amenities & Park Features

Travelers will find well-equipped facilities including full hookup sites that accommodate various rig sizes with 30 and 50-amp electrical service. The park features spacious pull-through sites designed for easy navigation and setup. Essential amenities include clean washrooms, coin-operated showers, and modern laundry facilities. For recreation, children can enjoy the on-site playground, while everyone can appreciate the reliable Wi-Fi available throughout the grounds. The presence of a dedicated sani-dump station and paved roads ensures a clean and accessible experience for all visitors.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Exploring the surrounding area is simple, with Westwood Lake Park just a short drive away for swimming and hiking. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to the trails at Mount Benson Provincial Park, offering panoramic views of the Strait of Georgia. For a more urban experience, the Nanaimo seawall and downtown harbor front provide excellent dining and shopping opportunities. Visitors often take the short ferry ride to Saysutshun or spend an afternoon exploring the local artisan shops and galleries that define this coastal city.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal match for ferry travelers looking for a high-quality stopover before or after a crossing. It also appeals strongly to garden enthusiasts and couples who prioritize a quiet, aesthetic environment over a high-energy resort atmosphere. Families will find the safe, contained layout welcoming, while big-rig owners will appreciate the wide access points. If you value a tranquil, well-maintained space that highlights the floral beauty of British Columbia, this is the perfect destination for your Nanaimo stay.

A quiet oasis in Nanaimo. Campers are treated to the delights of the surrounding garden areas. We stayed in mid-July when the many Hydrangeas were in bloom. Bathrooms are VERY clean; hot showers for $1. The owner is so helpful and friendly. Perfectly located for a stopover before or after the ferry. The owners are friendly and helpful. Could not ask for a nicer place to camp!

Really Nice campground with a super friendly owner. John gave us a lot of tips for the area. He also got free Loonies for the shower and a free electricity adapter since we did not had one with us. Great experience 🙏🏼

Great campsite, very hospitable owner. The day before arrival, we called about check-in time as the ferry would only be arriving at 10:15PM, but it was no problem and the owner, John, would still personally check us in. He gave us a few tips as it was our first time on Vancouver Island. The Lily Garden is beautiful. Campground is quiet. Facilities are clean, although showers are coin-operated.

This is one of the best little hidden gems the campground is pretty extensive has all the ammenties, the owner of the site although a little hard to understand is the nicest gentleman ive ever had the pleasure to meet. The only downside is there is new development on the east side of the campground. Everything else is golden its 2 mins away from a lake with fishing/swimming access 5 min drive from downtown nanamio.
