Not recommended for out of staters. The campground prices are reasonable but when added $14 a day for day-use fees (non NE residents), the price is too high for what you get. Electric only, some sites are quite small, gravel sites not quite leveled. Fire rings and picnic tables in each site. However, despite the lack of water hookups and the high fees, the showers require coins to operate. Lots of mosquitoes at the park all day. The biggest disappointment was the lack of water in the man-made lake. Evidently this was done on purpose to allow for some constraction elsewhere. But no notice was given when the reservation was made, nor upon arrival. And even with no lake nearby, they still sent a ranger to collect the day use fees. What exactly did we pay $14 a day for (in addition to camping fee)?? Of positive note are the friendly hosts and the clean bathhouse.

I’m giving it a 3 star for not enough lights on the entrance to campsites driveway at night. It took me 2 hours to set up a 33 ft rv by myself in the dark. I love the place I hope I will be able to see it in the am, but my gosh. Who knows where I am? Tons of bugs at night you must get an ac spot. I like open areas better. Other than that. I have seen a bathroom and a cigarette or trash dispenser. I also had to back this bad boy in myself. I did it

Beautiful park! Nice sandy swimming area. Not crowded during the week. Great bike path around the whole lake. Close to Lexington

Wonderful fishing and beautiful swimming area. Swimming area is large, well kept and not to deep so it's great for smaller children

We tented in site 78, with a good water view. Close to bathrooms and lake access, 10 minute walk to swimming beach. We did the 10 mile bike ride around the lake, which was great.

Wonderful Sunday. Large, pleasant spaces with natural views. Trails, beach, breakwaters, and everything you need to enjoy a great day of fishing. It far exceeded my expectations.

Driving through Nebraska and decided to stop here so we could get in a quick run and have some lunch. The park did not disappoint. We enjoyed our run and found drivers to be fantastic about sharing the road with us. The breeze off the lake was so refreshing. Afterwards we showered in the facilities (bring quarters) and chatted with other visitors. We saw an owl who squawked up a storm. It was a good day.

Great fishing! Lots of camping options. Roads and waste are well maintained and the lake shores are also very clean. There is a neighborhood on part of the lake and most are friendly but a few seem to not like people with dark skin. Sadly still parts of NE are like this. Still my trip with my son was awesome and we caught huge walleye and cats! Pan fish was hard to find but shiners at an hour or two before sunset was the winner for walleye and huge 30 min fights with catfish! See pics.
