Very low overhead clearance for RVs. If you enjoy being in a campground with a bunch of people burning their fires and smoke everywhere have fun.

Only giving a single ⭐️ because the staff was really the “B team.” The did not patrol at night during a rash of bear incidents. We had a sleepless night here and only saw a ranger after 8am. Bears walking around pushing on doors, car windows. One camper left at 2am after the bear pushed on his trailer door and broke his truck window. I camp a lot and most campgrounds would take aggressive bear activity seriously. Not here unfortunately.

We loved our stay here. The campground is way off the beaten path, but appears to stay full during busy season. The bathrooms can be a bit of a walk. No showers in the campground, but they do have pay showers next door. All campsites have a bear box on site. Just be sure to remember to also lock your car doors!

Pros, 5 min hike to the river, our campsite was very spacious. Market 10min away if you drive. Clean restrooms that flush. Not too many mosquito. Cons: No RV dump and fill-up site, there was a bear who came by frequently, some other campsites were very narrow which could make RV parking difficult.

Deep in Kings Canyon, the location is great for seeing the sights and proximity to great hiking trails. The sites are decent sized and there is quite a bit of shade, though some sites have full sun. It can get hot as the elevation is quite a bit lower than Grant Grove. The restrooms are well maintained and each has a dish washing station. There are bear boxes and their use is mandatory.

🌲The campsite was spacious, with a good distance between sites, providing plenty of privacy. 🌲The ground was flat, making it easy to set up camp. 🌲We enjoyed a beautiful view by the river, which was very peaceful. 🌲The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, 🌲and there were water taps near the campsite, which was convenient.

First time camping at sentinal campground! Very beautiful and clean. Showers are minutes away. Bears are very active!!! Be aware DO not cook after sunset make sure you put all food and scented items in bear box ! They will walk right up to your campsite 🐻! other then the bears I would have gave it a 5 star ⭐️! We would’ve loved to relax and chill at the campfire 🔥 not sure if we will be back as we saw bears every night. My kids 5 and 7 are a bit traumatized… Bedtime was at 9pm … unless you want to take the risk. 🐻🐻🐻🐻

Best experience ever. Clean camp grounds, with river flowing by. We visited this place in summer, the river flow was more. It was more like a small village in a forest. Beware of Bears😁 , as the place is theirs . 😊 There is a food court, grocery store. Overall must visit..( many times )

It was great camping for 4days last day we had a visitor. 700 pounds 🐻 bear if you keep your distance you're fine. Be camping for 25 years never had a problem with them .we're in their home.so we respect them.

Love it here and been coming here since 1993. Don't know if we'll come back since it's reservations year round now.

Lots of space in each Campsite! They emphasize putting ALL food and scented items in the bear box for a reason! We went for a hike within the Campground and saw a black bear with two cubs along the creek. Restroom was clean, saw staff cleaning it the next morning. They have a station to do dishes which was a very nice surprise. It's quite a drive to get to but well worth it.

Sentinel Campground in Kings Canyon National Park is one of our favorites. Stayed in campsite # 34 this trip. Large pull-through site, with plenty of beautiful shade trees and a open field. We hiked, biked and fly fished right from the campground. Some camp sites are on the Kings River, some are on the meadow.

Great campground central to everything in the Cedar Grove area. Sites are pretty roomy and level. Showers/laundry still closed as of 6/27, but marketplace and food counter are open. Rangers actively encourage collecting dead/dry firewood, and there is a lot on the trail between Sentinel and Sheep Creek campgrounds.
