(Edited to include a response to the owner’s reply below) Terrible Experience with Booking, Communication, and Service I usually don’t leave reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I felt it was important to share. Here’s what happened during our stay at King’s Kamp in Key Largo: Double-Booked RV Space We reserved an RV space with a water view nearly a year in advance and even checked in with the property from time to time before the rental to ensure everything was confirmed. When we arrived, the space was already taken. Staff claimed it was a “friend of the owner” and made no real effort to fix the issue. They ended up assigning us to a completely different area without any water view at all, which was not what we paid and planned for. It was clearly a case of double-booking, and we were left scrambling without proper support. Pet Policy and Unexpected Charges We rented a cottage and were told before booking that small dogs were allowed. On the second day, we were charged $250 for having our Chihuahua, who stayed 100% of the time in a stroller inside the cottage. If we had known dogs weren’t allowed inside, we would have made different arrangements. We were never trying to break any rules—we were misinformed. Condition of the Cottage Regardless of whether the nightly rate was $320 or closer to $400 with taxes and fees, the condition of the cottage did not reflect the price. The sofa bed mattress was dirty and covered in hair, the ceiling fan wasn’t working, and the Roku TV had a broken cable, so we had no access to regular TV—only limited streaming when the remote worked. These are basic things that should be inspected before each new rental. Boat Dock Issues We paid for a proper boat dock and clearly stated the size of the boat, yet were assigned a space too small to use safely. We had to anchor the boat in open water near the cottage with no dock access, making it difficult and unsafe to get in and out of the boat. The jet ski space was also inconveniently far from the RV space we were reassigned after their booking mistake. Unprofessional Response Instead of acknowledging these valid concerns, management responded to our review with false claims and accused us of trying to “diminish” their business. That’s not true—we were simply looking for a peaceful and enjoyable vacation and felt the need to share an honest account after what we experienced. Final Thoughts It’s truly a shame, because this property sits on a beautiful piece of land with a lot of potential. With clear communication, better maintenance, and a more respectful attitude toward guests, this could be a wonderful place to stay. We hope they take this feedback seriously and make the improvements needed for future visitors.

Ruth was extremely pleasant during the entire booking process! She helped my fiancé Eric and I book a room with dockage for our 31’ Jupiter. We booked one day in advance but she was able to find us space! The room was perfect and clean, the park safe with an old Keys feeling, conveniently located in the heart of so many good restaurants! We will definitely be returning.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Kings Campground, and it was a fantastic experience. The room I rented was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a cozy retreat after a day of outdoor activities. The amenities were just as described, and I appreciated the peaceful atmosphere that allowed me to truly relax and enjoy nature. A special shoutout to Ruth, the campground supervisor, whose hospitality made my stay even better. She was incredibly friendly, always available to answer questions, and went above and beyond to ensure that guests felt welcome and well taken care of. Her professionalism and warm demeanor truly set the tone for a great stay. I highly recommend Kings Campground to anyone looking for a relaxing and well-managed getaway. Thanks again to Ruth and the team for making my visit so enjoyable!

Nice park, small and quiet, just like we wanted instead of the large parks with all the of hustle and bustle. The ladies in the office are sweet, enjoying visiting with them. There were fires just over the bridge on the mainland and the roads out were closed and we didn’t know when we’d get out and they said problem, they’ll take care of us. ❤️ We will be back when we come to the Keys again.

Ruth, who works tirelessly and has the energy level of the Energizer Bunny, in the office at Kings Camp RV park in Key Largo, Florida is even more incredible than the sunsets you see here. I am 55 years old and never have I had such an excellent customer service and "can-do" attitude. I formed my opinion by watching her interact with other guests as well as our experience when we checked in. Kings Kamp park actually cost less money than the glorified "parking lot" (overflow no less, so NO sewer hookup!) we were staying at 5 miles up the road!! Ruth has such an efficient, professional, and kind nature. Excellent and delicious food truck/restaurant permanently on site. Many of the RV parks we've stayed at in Florida do not permit packages to be delivered- - King's Kamp does! In fact, the only thing I would change about our visit is if we could've stayed longer! Nice people, pet friendly, spectacular views, and the gentle song of the conch shell as the sunsets disappears-- Love this place!!

If your looking ahead of time try and find somewhere else . We were right on top of people sleep was a mission to say the least. I think people live here and we were so close that we heard this ladys array of wind chimes ALL night. Other than that friendly staff and we were able to book the day which was great!

Stayed in lot 36 1/8 through 1/10. My lot was a little close to the road but things quiet down at night. Worked well for a short pit stop. Very hard to find openings in the keys on short notice. Great location in Key largo on the north side of the road (same side as the island long bike path). Nice well kept place. Good people, will stay again.

I know campgrounds in the keys are pricy. But honestly there is a limit. At $147 per night, it is a joke. At least we would expect internet to be great but it is not

Nice small RV park on the water in Key Largo. Super friendly staff. Rates are fair for the area. We got a waterfront spot for our class b. Bathrooms were clean and fairly recently remodeled. There's a boat launch and a couple docks. Close to restaurants and grocery stores.

Love this place- We have been coming for the last 5 years and it's all due to Margaret and Ruth and the rest of the team. They have accomodated us and are always just darn nice and funny. The campground is very nice but the team is amazing and that is why we keep coming back . See you in 2022
