My family used to camp here for the summer each year many years ago when it was called Royal Oaks Campground. It was so much fun and we met lots of good people who also had summer camping spots. Many became good friends. A few years ago I was traveling in the area and decided to stop by for nostalgic reasons since I had such great memories camping there. I am sorry I did. The place seemed to have become a run down trailer park with permenant residents. The visit was very disappointing.

Camping there is my favorite summer and fall time retreat.... They have swimming fun, volleyball 🏐 nets to play with our daughter...keeping up her school practice! The staff are so sweet and helpful, we love going on the mornings to the river roasters cafe down the street and overlooking the water and the West Virginia bridge that has always been a childhood memory for me. Great great great retreat. Love it and look forward to going every year and we even got t shirts and hoodies from the Campground gift shop we all love 💕 Thank you Kountry Campgrounds for being our go to place for camping for the four or five years in a row now! Highly recommend. Such a great family oriented place to bring everyone you know and 💕 love.

Was a seasonal camper for years but no more. This year we were advised that everyone’s contract was being voided. I’m sorry I left out that we had to buy a membership there years ago just to be able to use the campground and other amenities. Okay now like I said our contract was voided and he told us that they would be doubling the price and there was nothing we could do take it or leave it so we left, now they want us to pay a exit fee to get out of our membership! This place has steadily lost amenities and is not worth the price anymore.

My husband and daughter and our friends stayed the night a few weeks ago. We had a wonderful time and a good night love the walking trail and had fun fishing. Just loved everything about this place. Can't wait for summer so we can camp again

We booked online since the office closed at 1 pm. We arrived in the evening and there was a gate only accessible by a card. In the confirmation email it said there would be an envelope at the office with the card and map. No envelope for us so we used another guest's card and put it back on the board. There's 2 numbers to call listed on the gate but no cell service at the gate. The sites were small and not as clean as we were expecting for $50/night. The picnic table at our site was also falling apart. The few positives were that we did end up having good cell service once we were at our site and the place was quiet.

The campground has a lot to offer: The heated indoor pool was warm enough for my little kids, the gym is not big but clean, there are 3 small playgrounds (which could be better, they need an update) and it was the last weekend to use the play thing in the lake. A big bummer was that our youngest was about 2 inches too small and not allowed to play. It would have been nice to habe the height restrictions somewhere on the website or at least in the welcome package. He was very disappointed that he only could watch his siblings having fun. They have a small kiosk trailer next to the lake where you can buy pizza and hot dogs. Unfortunately they had a mouse in the trailer and they recommended not to buy anything. But the biggest negative thing for us was when we moved into our rented trailer. We found a note that said „Sorry, I was not able to sweep the floors, I needed to get out the dogs.“ The whole floor was super dirty with dog hair, grass, food, … it was disgusting. The note itself was ridiculous. I swept the floors myself and talked to the office the next day (we arrived very late). The answer was „It couldn’t be that dirty!“ And that’s it. This is absolutely disrespectful. I showed her the note and she mumbled a few things but no apology or anything. The trailer itself was run down and is in serious need of an update. I can only recommend this campground if you bring your own tent or camper.

We love it here as a family. Everyone is kind and the owners are amazing. If there is a problem they get to it asap. Very clean environment and beautiful place to be. The holiday weekends they do things to make it fun. As a family we enjoy it so much! ❤

We came up for a weekend and ended up becoming permanent campers here. The staff is great and we love Andy and Tess, the owners. There is plenty of fun stuff for the whole family. Aqua park, indoor swimming pool, game room, playgrounds, and great fishing ponds! Everything is clean and well kept.
