Lake Bluff Campground

This was the perfect place for our first outing in our new (to us) travel trailer. The park is well kept, all the hookups worked. Sites are spaced enough that you aren't on top of your neighbor. There are trees throughout, which makes it much nicer than some of the "parking lot" style RV parks that are out there. Oh, they also have a nice little catch and release pond for fishing. Staff was friendly and helpful. Booking is easier over the phone if you have a specific site in mind, but the call center was also helpful and friendly, making it a breeze to book our stay. The campground is also great in communicating via email before and after your stay. Our kids are grown, so they missed out on the fun stuff that the park has for kids to make it very kid-friendly. Would I stay again? Well, I just reserved the same site for a couple weeks from now :)

This was the worst weekend imaginable. I reserved a cabin online, and received confirmation that I had cabin number 36 for Saturday night. Upon arrival at 4:15, I found a closed office, nobody to answer the phone, and an emergency after hours number with a full mailbox. I went to inspect the cabin, and found it open, but occupied and disgustingly filthy and full of personal belongings. I paid $200 and had no place to stay for my family. The closest room I could find on such short notice was an hour away in Oswego and $300, so it ended up being a $500 night and nobody from lake bluff will return my call or refund my money. Beware.... Don't trust the new ownership of this place and don't make a reservation here without a back up plan and money to waste.

Great location, site very nice, easy to make reservation. Showers were fine a little run down but were pretty clean. Washroom does need a passcode which I didn’t see on the reservation but I may have just missed it. Be sure you ask prior to close if you are getting in late. Would go again for sure!

Love this place! We came from Buffalo to celebrate my 30th and decided to rent the cabin they have here. this place is so quiet and tranquil, exactly what I needed. The beds are cabin beds so obviously they’re not the comfiest, but we all slept well! Cabin comes with a mini fridge, toaster, coffee maker and a microwave. Bathrooms/showers , jump pad and pool are directly across from the site. It was very clean and I would definitely stay here again.

It was a cute campground with lots of cute amenities that are probably great for someone with kids but other than that, the campground, specifically the bathrooms and the cabin we stayed at was kind of run down it was sad. The cabin we stayed at had hair on the beds and bugs on the windowsill. The bathroom also had graffiti and a few of the stalls had bathroom doors that didn’t close well. I will say the frog pond and nature trail was very cute and it added some positivity during our visit.

There were definitely both pros and cons to this place. The pool was well kept and clean. The laundry room was clean and everything was in working order. There were 2 washers/2 dryers. The site I stayed in was a large pull through site which I liked. Unfortunately there were several things that did not meet our expectations. POWER. There were times when we just had none! It was hot and the power would not run the A/C. The park was nowhere near filled to capacity yet no power. Brutal! Internet service was practically nonexistent. This is so important nowadays as most campers make plans for their visit online. This was impossible. Since there was a lack of WiFi, there was no TV most of the time. When it did work, it worked for a several seconds to a minute and then buffer. This made TV unwatchable. The picnic tables at our site (although large) were rotting and full of moss. Ours had a large chunk on the seat broken off. Lastly, the men’s restroom was deplorable. There was one urinal ( out of order) and 2 stalls, one was clogged and unusable the other, although worked, had no toilet paper! The room was in need of cleaning and appeared to have been neglected for years. I could not use this facility. This place needs an upgrade!☹️

I’ve been here many times over the years with my family and I can say the campground has taken a turn for the worse. From the absence of a full time staff on a holiday weekend to monitor mischief or even clean the bathrooms was evident. The first impression at registration was a girl that didn’t know how to take off military or AAA discounts as advertised and honored or even run the register to the extreme dirt and black mold build up on the exterior of the property buildings. A plus is that seasonal campers keep and maintain their areas out of pride. I know that an investment firm took over but I can see them losing money with time if they do not get the right management or improved care the park needs. So sad as we loved coming here as did my mom.

Really nice place. Close to chimney bluffs state park. Staff all friendly and helpful. Nice camp store too. Only negative was the restroom/shower facilities. Toilets were slow to flush or backed up. Shower water never gets warm. Nice laundry facilities.
