One of are favorite campgrounds. Awesome sites, very clean, lots of woods, very peaceful. This was the first time on a lake front site but every site is good. I recommend anyone who loves peace and quiet and really nice sites. Staff was super friendly as well.

So according to reserve America you were allowed to check in at 1:00. I got to the campground at 2 :00 and there was no one there to check me in and there's a note that they would be there at 2:30. They did show up earlier than that but I basically had to sit around. Just waiting to check in. The campground itself was pretty nice. The roads have a rise in the middle so if your car or RV has low spots you kind of have to straddle the middle. The bathrooms are very nice and cleaning and the people were friendly

Lifeguards could care less that there is goose poop all over the beach. No wonder the water had a high bacterial level. I asked for a bucket and they said why bother the geese will poop again tomorrow. So if you own a dog and your dog poops in the yard and you’re having company over, do you clean it up or do you just leave it there cause the dogs gonna poop again? Well That’s exactly what the lifeguard told me. The goose are gonna poop again, so why bother cleaning it up. Because it’s a health hazard and I wouldn’t bring my three-year-old grandson here cause he walked through it and he wouldn’t know any better.

I grew up camping here, then took my kids. The sites are good, as are the restrooms last I went. Some of the best memories of my life were made spending summers there.

When we went it was nice and quiet up there. The beach is clean. It’s sunny on the beach for most of the day. The water is pretty clear. There are lifeguards. They have trash cans and recycle bins. Grills to cook out. The only thing I did not like was the beautiful grassy area had so much dog poop EVERYWHERE!!! The kids can’t play there without stepping in it. Why does nobody clean up their dogs messes. DISGUSTING. Other than that I’ll definitely go back and spend a whole day.

Camped mid-June 2024, friendly staff and well kept facilities. Water temperature in the mid to upper 70's was very refreshing. Spotted Loon, beaver, GB herons, Bald Eagle. Brilliant fireflies! Enjoyed paddling an inflatable kayak, fishing and exploring the trails. Lots of blue gill, some yellow perch and a few smallmouth bass. Although busy with day use and campers, it never felt crowded. A few dogs, no problem. Neighboring camper had a generator that was silenced at around 10pm, much appreciated, although I would prefer camping areas set aside with no generators. Road noise from 202 can be loud at times. Great family camping area. Thanks to park staff for a very enjoyable experience!

Great for hiking, fishing, camping and swimming! We love it here. Bathrooms are generally clean and well maintained. **Parking though - the kiosk in the parking lot is not operational. There's a sign with an Apple QR code (not helpful for those of us on Android) to download an app to pay to park. Only problem is.... There's no cellphone service in the park. We drove 5 mins down the road into town to download the app to pay for parking. We get the app and drive back. Only to find out the parking is free until May 28th. A sign would have been MOST helpful. Save yourself the headache and download the Yodel app in advance of visiting the park.

Great place to visit and swim. Rude office staff recently at the Recreation area phones though. Don’t know what’s happening over there but on 2 separate events this summer this has occurred. Since they swimming area has been closed 2 out of the 4 previous visits this year; I simply wanted to find out ahead of time if swimming was open before packing up 3 kids under 10 yrs old for this particular excursion. Both times (previous call and today’s call) the staff was verbally short and had attitudes like they were being bothered for even being asked. I understand the reasons for being closed but the attitudes are unwarranted, just because you aren’t talking to someone in person doesn’t mean you should care less about the conversation.

Beautiful area to enjoy a picnic, or go for a hike or cool off in the tranquil lake with a swim.

So pretty and calm. We will definitely be back for camping with friends.

Used to be nice till it got over crowded and you have to pay for parking. Even though water is contaminated as signs are up, they still let people swim. However, you can't swim when it's packed now and they pee in the water. Lifeguard busy flirting while a kid was drowning years back, had to save her. Very buggy there, not worth going anymore.

It's a great place to spend time in the nice weather. There's a lake, restrooms, grills, and picnic tables. There are boat launches and a lot of great places you can access both by kayak or on the back dirt roads. There are great fishing spots out on the rivers and lots of trails to hike. You can access the lake through either Winchendon or Royalston. The Royalston way is all dirt roads to the lake.

The entrance and lake is just the beginning of the fun you can experience. Miles and miles of roads and trails outback to explore. Some open to wheeled motorized vehicles, most of them are available to be used by human power only. The roads that are now open gets you around most of the recreational area. Off of these roads are trails galore to explore. Remember to bring a Camera and water is a good idea. Along with hiking, there is fishing and canoeing at multiple locations in the park. Have fun, I know I do. Remember this area is used for flood damage prevention in towns downstream and sometimes it is to dangerous to be used for recreational use because the entire area is compleatly flooded. Cars in the swimming area parking lot could be completely covered with water in an extremely massive rain event. Enjoy your time there. Mr. P. 👍✔🙂
