We stopped here on a whim while driving around Guntersville. We have been to the campground here before to visit friends, but was curious about the lodge. Wow! The view is stunning! There’s an outdoor pool high above the bluffs. Very inviting. They say the lodge books up throughout the summer and I plan on looking in to booking a couple of nights here. Looking forward to golf and swimming and a little hiking this year.

This is a great place to visit if they're having an event or if you want to fish. If neither of those are happening then it's pretty calm, but still a beautiful location for a few days to chill.

Great place to stay. Good amenities. Bring everything with you, its a little way into town, not by milage... but mountainous roads and curves. Fisherman's paradise... nature lovers dream and site seers bucket list. Rates are fair. Camp is clean. You will love it !

Beautiful park right on the lake, offers hiking trails, boat ramp, campground, golf course, lodge and restaurant. Great views of the lake and sunsets. Dog friendly.

It's a beautiful park, with a lodge, restaurant, campground, beach area, zip lines, and a lot of trails. It's not very user friendly for older people with bad knees or if you're out of shape, as most of the trails have steep areas. Also, the creeks and waterfalls are dependent on a lot of rain, so if that's what you're going there to see, plan accordingly.

A picture is worth thousand words. This is a drop dead gorgeous park and lodge. My family came during the week and it was rainy so we did not get to experience all the amenities. But still had a chance to snap this pic then head to downtown Guntersville where I got some steals at their boutiques! Well worth the trip.

This place has ample parking and a beautiful lodge. There are clean restrooms and a gorgeous view of the lake from the lodge as well. Find a map and pick a trail to get your steps in for the day in lovely wooded walking trails. They are well marked and easy to follow. I can't wait to bring more friends here throughout the seasons.

Beautiful, Big Mikes was great! Had crab claws, fried mushrooms, hot crab and shrimp dip , Ribeye and Clearwater crab cakes they are served on fried green tomatoes .it was all good! The chocolate shop a couple p le doors down was great.

Beautiful wedding venue. Delicious prime rib dinner. The executive chalet with giant soaking tub and fireplace was so cozy. DVD players byo dvds though. They gave us $58 off per night due to jets unable to use in the giant tub. Front desk staff kind and helpful. We used the workout room. Do the Cathedral Caverns nearby. It's fun and gorgeous especially if you love science. It was an ocean hundreds of millions of years ago. Got to see a 400 million year old shark tooth sticking out of the limestone ceiling. So cool.

Fabulous place! Guntersville Lake Park is an absolutely wonderful destination! It’s quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by magical scenery. The views of the lake and rolling hills are breathtaking, and the whole area feels so clean, cozy, and well-kept. What makes it extra special is that it’s not overcrowded, so you can truly relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. It’s the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life – whether you’re looking for some quiet time to yourself, a romantic picnic by the water, or a family day outdoors. The park offers plenty of space to unwind, and the serene atmosphere makes you feel completely recharged. If you’re in Alabama or passing through, Guntersville Lake Park is a hidden gem worth visiting again and again.

This review is for the lodge and room within the state park. The lodge is beautiful, but could definitely use some updates. The carpet in the big venue room needs to be replaced. There wa a shortage of staff while we were there for a work conference. I understand that it’s about to be bought by Hilton. My hope is that this will bring the revenue to upgrade some things. The room I stayed in was sufficient but there were issues: poor lighting, hair dryer didn’t work, stained carpet, etc. But the VIEW from the conference/venue room is incredible! That’s the best part.

This was our first visit and we were impressed. The area is full of beautiful scenery and with much to offer. We stayed in a chalet and was very happy with the views and also the cleanliness. We did book a pet friendly chalet and did not have an issue with smells from previous pets. We visited the beach area- I would recommend bringing water shoes as there are a lot of shells and pebbles and the sand gets hot. Also, bring an umbrella or some type of shade. There is an area at beach to use the restroom and change clothes. No pets are allowed at the beach. There are many trails to hike. There is zip lining but it is a little pricey. The pool at the lodge was great. There is a restaurant at the lodge but it is closed Monday- Wednesday which was the days that we were there. Overall, we had a great time and plan on making this a yearly family vacation since there is much to offer without breaking the bank.

Love it here! from the fishing,swimming, boating and hiking trails.You can see bald eagles fly down catch a fish or catch big bass yourself, it really is an amazing place!The convenient store at Murphy Hill is really expensive so buy your drinks and snacks before you go!

To Whom It May Concern, I don’t know what kind of operation y’all are running over at Guntersville State Park, but the state of the grass is downright embarrassing. It looks like it hasn’t seen a mower since Christmas, and we’re smack dab in spring. This isn’t a nature preserve — it’s a campground where people bring their families, their kids, and their hard-earned money to enjoy a safe and clean outdoor experience. Instead, we’re staring down knee-high weeds, worried sick about snakes slithering around or our kids stepping on broken glass and beer bottles hiding in the jungle you’re calling a lawn. And let me be clear — we couldn’t camp if we wanted to. There’s no way we’re pitching a tent in that overgrown mess, much less letting our children run around in it. What really gets me is the complete disregard for safety, especially when it comes to kids. Y’all know good and well that families are out here trying to enjoy the park, and instead we’ve got to follow our kids around like hawks to make sure they don’t end up in the ER because someone didn’t feel like mowing the grass. If one of these children gets bitten by a snake or steps on some jagged glass because of your laziness, hell *will* break loose. I’m talking lawsuits, press coverage, the whole nine yards — because this is unacceptable. You’ve got a responsibility to keep this park maintained and safe. Get it together, and fast. And another thing — where are the picnic tables and grills? Y’all stripped them out like nobody uses them, and that decision is just plain ridiculous. Not everyone has a truck to haul a grill or the money to go buy one just to cook a hotdog. This is supposed to be a family-friendly park, not some bring-your-own-everything survival camp. People come here to relax, eat, and spend time together — not to sit in the dirt and figure out how to cook over a hole in the ground. Bring back the basic amenities that used to make this place worth visiting, because right now it’s a total letdown.

My wife and I stayed in Chalet #403. It was nice...We had fun on the hiking trails. We rented a pontoon from Town Creek fishing center...which is owned and operated by the park. Had a blast on the lake! The breakfast was pricey on Friday...but a continental breakfast is available Mon-Wed. Saw some eagles...lots of deer and Canadian geese...some ducks...a couple snakes on the water ..and fish everywhere!
