Love to come camping here with the family in the late fall, it's typically great weather that time of year and you can book last minute (not as full as state campgrounds) The county runs a tight operation, holding tight to a strict rules to ensure everyone enjoys their experience. Our young kids love biking around the campground paths and playing with other kids, scrambling on rocks with great views overlooking the lake. Clean and robust bathroom amenities. Majority of sites have shade from giant oak trees. There was a backup checking in at the entrance gate on a Friday night. The attendee allowed us to drive around the line and checkin in the morning which was super helpful allowing us to get setup.

This is our second year staying here. Shower bathrooms open 24 hours. PCT trails the edge of it. PCT tent camping site available. Beautiful views Playground for the kids. Boat launch and fishing. Turkey, deer, rabbits, owl, birds and the local resident across the street that has dogs that like to bark. A walk to the Malt Shop is worth the trip.

Spent 3 nights camping at Lake Morena. Super clean campground. Bathrooms are clean and accessible. 2 shower stalls in the women's side. Plenty of easy walking trails. I reserved partial hook ups. Water and power provided. No sewer. Very reasonable rates. 3 nights and 2 dogs ($1 per dog) was $98. Fishing if you want. Boats available to rent. The lake is very low from what it used to be. Still picturesque scenery and plenty of bird watching. The last morning, sitting outside having a cup of coffee and 4 deer walked thru the campground. The ranger station sells firewood. All the park staff were very nice and keep a close eye on things. I will definitely be back soon.

We rented Cabin #4, it was perfect size for our family of 4, our neighbors in the next cabin over were quiet and played nice music, parking lot was large, close, and you can easily get to the shore for fishing or hiking.

This was a great place to go for (tent) camping! We chose to go during the summer and heat wave but where we camped there was shade from the trees and there was a breeze that help us stay cool enough. At night is where the real magic happens. The amount of stars is breathtaking. I was able to get some amazing pictures of the stars. Being to close to San Diego, and not too far away from the freeway, this campground is perfect. The restrooms were clean and well kept (except for a few spiders but it's camping, they are going to be there), never had a problem of there not being any toilet paper, soap or paper towels. The showers are quarter operated starting at .50 cents for 4 minutes to $1.25 for 10 minutes. The water did get nice and hot quickly for me and plenty of space in the shower to dry off and change too. The only thing I would complain about it the door gap, for all who wander over there they can see right into the shower ..... I tried covering the gap but didn't have much success. We are all girls but I like my privacy when in the shower. The roads did have a lot of big cracks, so not ideal for skateboarding or rollerblading. There was plenty of walking trails, and for such a beautiful area it is good to take advantage of all the walking trails. The campsite itself, there was plenty of room, I never felt like I was too close to our neighbor. Very well kept and clean. The only downside to this campground is T-Mobile does not get reception there. Thankfully our friend had Verizon and we were able to use their phone to call our friends that would be heading out for the day to visit. I don't mind not having service really but we still need and want to communicate with friends. We really lost service a couple miles down the road before arriving to the campground. Overall a great campground.

Great to spend time outdoors with the family. Best way to camp with access to bathrooms and other amenities like a park. Not to mention the hiking, boating and fishing (with permit). Be sure to bring anything cool you down anytime you visit to camp, hammocks and other things to hang in the tree are not allowed. Dogs are allowed but be sure to leash then all the time. This is a dog friendly place. Which is a plus. Highly recommended!
