We pulled up with questions and to obtain a camp map so we can plan a long stay with our friends a few months from now, but we couldn't get through the gate. The employee in the hut didn't see us, her coworker on the other hand exchanged eye contact multiple times and nothing came of it. Sat there for 5mins thinking she was busy, then I reversed out and left. We'll be staying at a lake house a couple miles closer to Yuba City instead. Thanks for helping us decide quickly.

Decent sites with decent amenities, fun slides for kids. Male Restroom was pretty run down in "A" camp paint and plaster flaking off walls. One urinal working other completely removed. Only one toilet second was out of order. Cell service is very spotty or non existent. They mentioned having WiFi available in two places but was only available in one.

Thousand Trails Review 2025 I am writing this review after returning from a Lake of the Springs week at Oregon House, California. Thousand Trails owns this campground. We have been going there during the summer for a number of years. This is my latest review. I stayed as a guest in a newer cabin; the cost per night was pretty steep but we were able to take hot showers, cook and have our own small side yard with table. Good A/C available in cabins. There was initially notice of the pool being closed until maybe August. But we found out it was open in mid July to our surprise. There was a functioning lake, boathouse, and Lodge with various games and activities. Direct TV available in cabins and at lodge. Rentals for the lake were available. LOS is also near highway 20 which takes you right up to Grass Valley and beyond. Collins Lake down the road a few miles. Lots of places to explore in the area. Pluses: Pool was open after being resurfaced. Lake was available for use. Dam had been repaired. Game cabinet in meadow stocked with equipment for use. Emergency radio/phones available for emergency use at key locations. Not sure if they go to phone mail if off hours or if a ranger picks up. The staff was outstanding. Minuses: Pool was closed on a Monday until 3pm without written notice for campers. Communication seemed to be an issue. Rental prices increased. Basic maintenance of cabins passable; but some needed thorough cleaning. Stayed in an older cabin the last two nights which seemed ADA compliant but could not reach top linen cabinets in bathroom. Some lights not working; we found a broken light cord in a cabin and flagged it for the cleaning/maintenance people. Often lacking sufficient linens; especially for the kitchen. Store food prices a bit steep. Minimal amount of bar soap supplied for a family of five. Cell phone connectivity spotty at laundry, trading post and lodge. Ranger not visible during the day or night. Laundry charged 2.50 a load with 0.25 surcharge per load for using a credit card. Does not take quarters. All electronic. Recommendations: A cell tower would be helpful not necessitating driving to the top of the ridge for signal. Fire and emergency instructions should be posted at all buildings and thoroughly reviewed at the initial check-in. There seems to be only one road out in an emergency. Unsure of the protocol. Provide a camper rental checkout sheet for cleaning and maintenance people for any outstanding problems. Enforce electronic vehicle (scooters) rules. We enjoy the park and the proximity to the Bay area. I would encourage the owners to keep improving the basic infrastructure and hold the costs; especially since they are now coming out with new rental scenarios. Many of us are seniors who have limited income. Make it affordable for all. Keep the family-friendly ambience.

The place is great. The only thing we didn't like was they have a separate area for dogs to swim . You can't just swim with your dog at the lake their not allowed with you at the beach area at all they have a dog lake which you can't swim at kinda defeats the purpose of bringing your dog at all

Lake of the Springs is a great family campground. The lake and beach area are perfect for kids - sandy beach, shallow, warm water, and very safe. The staff who works at the campground are very kind and welcoming, especially with kids, which I appreciate. They have regular scheduled activities which my kids always enjoy, along with a store that cells ice cream and snacks. We were impressed with the 4th of July festivities, which included a parade (and free supplies to decorate bikes/scooters/golf carts), free hot dogs and s'mores, activities, games, water play, and face paint at the park, followed by a small but very fun fireworks show at night. It felt like a very small town 4th of July celebration and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Out of the few thousand trails we have stayed at nearby, lake of the springs is by far our favorite. We try to get back here as much as possible for the entire stay that we are allowed to. It is so beautiful in every section of the RV park and each section feels entirely new. All staff are wonderful and so helpful. Can't wait for year and years of enjoyment.

So far our favorite Thousand Trails site. From the staff to the grounds, you can really feel the pride of ownership here. We will certainly be back when we are in CA again.

It's a great location, close to Collins Lake. There is a lake on the property you can fish or swim in. There's a large clubhouse with a wrap around deck overlooking the lake. We'll be back

Quiet and peaceful area. While this Thousand Trails is a little run down, it is less so than many I have been to, and is kept clean and mostly kept up well. The pool was warm and great to swim in (definitely a plus since there are currently notes posted that the lake may have "Swimmers Itch" parasites). The Lodge wifi was down for part of our stay, but up at the laundry building throughout. The assorted staff we met were friendly.

Wow!!! Where to begin? I had been invited by some friends to come camping. As someone who lives in the bay, I had many qualms with traveling so far just to go camping in the heat. Nonetheless, my expectations were beyond surpassed! Not only was the weather beautiful, but the scenery was just breathtaking! The campground is like a little hidden oasis, complete with a gorgeous lake perfect for swimming. My friends and I spent most of the day out on the water, drifting around in pool floaties enjoying the breath taking scenery. Sometimes true bliss is sitting in an inflatable pool, floating around the lake drinking age appropriate drinks, with the cries of eagles flying over head. Truly in moments like these, surrounded by people you love while pretending to be mermaids out on a lake is all you need to set yourself straight. Since this trip, I have been back THREE TIMES and I'm coming back soon! The staff is always super friendly and extremely helpful. The campgrounds themselves are AMAZING! Extremely clean and I honestly can't think of a single one that doesn't have an amazing view. There is a pool, and FULLY FUNCTIONING SHOWERS with hot water! Additionally the lake is very walkable. I will absolutely be coming back and bringing my family here!

My recent trip to Lake of the springs was amazing! I enjoyed every part of my visit, the activities were fun and well thought out, we loved the pond and the waterfall is so beautiful! But the Lake was definitely the best of all. We saw signs that said swimmers itch might be in the lake, but honestly just like the sign advised we showered right after and had no issues! I will be back as soon as I can. The staff is super friendly and helpful everyone from the ranger station to the hard working housekeepers made us feel so welcome! Definitely recommend this place!

Barbecue pits full from the last few campers they should’ve been cleaned out after each camper The trailer sites were unlevel Overall poorly maintained throughout The main house it was open there was no fire no music no TV kind of a dreadful place no lights The store was closed The pool was closed Things seemed in disrepair and at $75 per night I would think they would be pretty damn clean and tidy and open and electrical boxes working instead of changing them into 10 sites. If you figure $75 a night for trailer times 30 days equals $2250 a month that’s pretty damn steep for what you get and we got nothing no pool even the miniature golf course was closed and in disrepair we went in October with a large Group we found sites but after being there I understand why it wasn’t very crowded. The staff at the gate were very friendly with directions and a map and that’s where we saw our last staff member Happy camping
