Location & Surroundings
Situated in Perris, CA, the park is defined by its open-desert landscape and the stark beauty of the Bernasconi Hills. The environment is characterized by sagebrush, cactus, and dramatic granite boulders, creating a rugged contrast to the cool waters of Lake Perris. Amenities & Park Features
The Luiseno Campground is exceptionally well-equipped for RVers, featuring many sites with full hookups including water, electricity, and sewer connections. This level of service is a significant benefit for a state recreation area, making it a comfortable choice for longer stays. Guests have access to modern restrooms and hot showers, as well as a convenient dump station for those in non-hookup loops. Each individual site is thoughtfully outfitted with a fire ring and a heavy-duty picnic table, encouraging a traditional camping atmosphere.

Water sports dominate the activity list here, with ample space for boating, jet skiing, and fishing for rainbow trout and bass. On land, visitors can explore miles of multi-use trails for hiking or mountain biking around the lake's perimeter. You can also spend an afternoon at the Ya'i Heki' Regional Indian Museum to learn about the history of the Luiseno people and the local ecology. Nearby, the Southern California Railway Museum provides an engaging look at historic trains and trolleys for travelers of all ages.

Reasonably priced and fairly local to the LA/OC area. A great little camping getaway spot. The lake is nice for swimming or boating and there are a couple hikes nearby of varying difficulty and length. Campsites are clean and the restrooms are fairly roomy.

Beautiful area. The lake is quite large and you can swim in it. Great camping as well.

What a beautiful state recreation area of Lake Perris. I came here for SSBD and camp out for the festival. Watching the sunrise here was so magical. It’s very easy to find a lot that you’re staying in. I didn’t know this place existed and it’s so cool. How much area it has. Especially coming here to swim in the lake. Will definitely come here again to camp with my friends.

Beautiful lake! Camping, paddle boarding, sailing, boating, jet skiing & fishing. Beach area, restrooms, picnic & barbecue areas too! Go for the day or spend multiple days camping. Lots of parking. Great place to take friends & family🙂

Always enjoy going to the lake and just being with family. We camp there and head to the lake early. The campsites are usually pretty clean. Check in staff are pleasant and this time patrol actually came around during quiet hours to regulate their policy. This was nice only because sometimes it's battle of the bands. We've gone annually since 2021 and enjoy it
