Leaves everywhere — smelled amazing. The lake? Freezing. Didn’t care. Dove in like an Olympic champion with no form or plan. Found a stick roughly the size of a canoe. Tried to bring it home. Human said no. Tragic. Final Thoughts: Cool breeze, crunchy leaves, suspicious chipmunk energy in the distance. 10/10 sniff potential. Would recommend to any dog looking to reinvent himself as a wild forest prince.

Dump station. Water station. Showers are ok but not great (free). Heard and saw multiple generators going in campsites. Undercover campsites. Friendly staff. Kid at the front gate was very knowledgeable. Beautiful lake. Kids and families. The day use area is great for swimming and playground and picnics.

We had a great time and so did Cocoa. His first time at the beach in 14 years. He slept all the way home. Next time he’s staying home so mom and dad can go swimming. I think we brought him there illegally, I’m not sure. Hopefully ICE doesn’t come and try to take him 😝🤓

Nice, smaller state park. The campground is mostly open grass with space between sites. The staff is friendly and welcoming. There is a swimming area accessed by stairs but no true beach.

Beautiful park with plenty of parking, picnic tables, grills, swim area with lifeguard and bathroom/changing facilities. On the other side of the park there is a campground with lots of nice camp sites for RVs or tents. It's pet friendly - lots of dogs here, must be on a leash. They sell firewood - not sure if there is a camp store. They would make a fortune selling ice cream, snacks & grilling/camping supplies.

Lowkey campsite for those who don't need all the bells and whistles. Friendly staff. Great to be able to rent kayaks. Solid playground. Bathroom shower combos are ok. For tenters, some sites have little to no trees so if the weather is wet, then your normal rain coverage plans will have to adjust.

This rating is for a day visit. I cannot speak to the camping experience here. The park itself is small but very well manicured. There is a large lawn set on a small hill which is great for picnics. There also are tables with charcoal grills all along the coast of the lake. There is no beach, but relatively easy access to swim via 3 rough cut stone steps about 25 feet long. There is a large stick built wall less pavilion building with picnic tables and cabinets. This also has a larger grill setup. There is a good size playground, complete with swings. You look across the lake to the far shore but there is enough open water for an excellent breeze. There is a large outbuilding with restrooms. I cannot speak to the cleanliness as I did not use them. The rest of the park was well maintained so I would hope they are as well. They do fence off a swimming area with a buoy line. All in all, a very nice place to visit, you can hear the road but that does not take away from the beauty of the place.

I really had to think if I wanted to give this park a 3 or 4, in the end I chose 4 because the park itself is beautiful. The lake is gorgeous, the swimming area is clean and clear, the playground is awesome, and they keep the grounds well kept. My problem was with the campgrounds. No privacy, no shade, and staring at the back of RVs. Unless you happen to get the perfect campsite, this is likely all you'll get. We ended up leaving a day early even though we paid for two nights. Great for a visit, not great for a stay (unless you're lucky).

5$ a day per person for day access for Maine state residents. Can't beat that! Lots of picnic areas with charcoal grills. One big pavilion with a large grill and kitchen area. Nice playground area for the children. There is a roped in swimming area with a lifeguard on duty. There are clean changing and bathroom facilities on site. Campsites are spacious with some right on the water! Plenty of wood bundles and ice available for purchase. Great place to go for the day or camp for a few nights! Well worth the value!
