Beautiful area in general and great beach, I wish there were even more substantial trails so you could do some real hiking here, but it’s mostly designed for camping by the lake.

Nice campground. Lots of campers. Kind of tight. However I was tent camping in lot 133. Well visiting my son and his family. It was a very very large space. Double the size of the camper lots. Perfect. We had a great time. The grace is amazing. The water is beautiful. Bring water shoes. It’s very rocky. They have an ice cream store. Lots of kids. Not a place for older campers looking for peace and quiet away from kids and bikes and scooters.

Beautiful view of Lake Huron, but the beach is very rocky and difficult to walk on/get into the water. The campground sites are pretty tight with not a lot of trees. The snack shop serves ice cream which was nice. They have an area near the beach for painted rocks which was a hit with the kids.

Had great quiet time at this park. We were on site 353. This section has large lots. Nice view of the woods. Had great neighbors. This campground is one of our favorites

The campground can be very busy and crowded, but some of the outside campsites are pretty spacious. I stayed at campsite 32, and it was a very large site. None of the campsites really have any privacy. The restrooms/showers were clean and functional, and the campground store is convenient (although naturally overpriced). Real early on Tuesday morning, they were cutting the grass of empty campsites, which was very loud, but I guess the grass needs cut at some point. The beach is very long and a mix between rocks and smooth sand, and the water was very clean. Even when the beach is packed, there's plenty of space. The only annoyance is that there were tons of dogs on the beach, even though it is posted that animals aren't allowed on the day-use beach. And, having to park on the opposite side of the highway to walk to the beach was a rather long walk while carrying all of your beach things. It isn't the best beach compared to some up north, but as far as Metro Detroit beaches go, it might be the best and well worth visiting for a daytrip.
