Land of Waterfalls RV Park

Overview

Land of Waterfalls RV Park offers a welcoming and intimate basecamp for exploring the scenic beauty of Western North Carolina. Located just outside the gates of the Pisgah National Forest, this family-owned park provides a quiet retreat away from the crowds of larger commercial resorts. It balances modern conveniences with the rugged charm of the Appalachian highlands, making it a reliable choice for travelers who value convenience and accessibility to the region's most famous natural landmarks and outdoor recreation hubs.

Location & Surroundings

The park is situated in the heart of Transylvania County, famously known as the Land of Waterfalls. Surrounded by lush hardwoods and rolling terrain, the property puts travelers within minutes of the Davidson River and the entrance to one of the nation's most visited forests. The atmosphere here is defined by the sounds of the mountain breeze and the scent of blooming rhododendrons, offering a true mountain experience that feels secluded yet remains conveniently close to local shops and services in nearby Brevard.

Amenities & Park Features

Guests can expect well-maintained gravel sites that include full hookups with 30 and 50-amp electrical service. Each site is thoughtfully equipped with a picnic table and a fire ring for evening campfires under the stars. The park features a clean bathhouse and laundry facilities to support long-term travelers and those finishing a week of dusty trails. While the park maintains a rustic vibe, it offers reliable Wi-Fi to keep visitors connected while they plan their next day of hiking or fly fishing.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The primary draw is the proximity to over 250 waterfalls, including the iconic Looking Glass Falls and the natural waterslides at Sliding Rock. Outdoor enthusiasts can spend their days mountain biking in DuPont State Recreational Forest or fly fishing in world-class trout streams. For a change of pace, the nearby town of Brevard offers a charming downtown area filled with local breweries, art galleries, and the chance to spot the area's famous white squirrels during a casual afternoon stroll.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal match for active outdoor adventurers and couples who want a peaceful home base between forest excursions. Its layout and location favor those traveling in mid-sized trailers or motorhomes who prioritize immediate forest access over luxury resort-style pools. It is a fantastic choice for nature photographers and hikers looking to maximize their time in the wilderness while still enjoying a comfortable, level site with modern utilities and friendly, personal service.

This is one of the nicest small RV parks we've used! Great location, very well kept, nice sized sites with electric, water and sewer. Lots of grassy areas to walk your dogs and our site was very private! We only dealt with the staff via text messages, but they were prompt in responding and very accommodating when we had to change our dates by 1 week. We will definitely be back when we return to the Brevard/Hendersonville area! Absolutely loved it here! Added some pix of a few of the waterfalls we explored while here!

This is a very cute location. Small so very little noise close to towards for food and hiking. However we left after 1 night. We had zero wifi or cell service on site 12. We had to walk down to the road with our hands up in the air to get a single bar.

GPS accurate. Smaller than appeared on website, but easy to maneuver. Manager(s) accomodating. Rooms? Not certain. Firewood available on site $. All picnic tables replaced during our stay, new wood, stained. Landscape produced privacy, and pleasantly aromatic. WiFi extenders - good. Not certain regarding bathhouse availablity; no washer/dryers. Reference to "lodge" (small building) function not clear. Five nite stay. Pleasant.

We stayed here for the month of March 2025. No T-Mobile signal for voice-phone or data in the campground. You must connect to the campground Wi-Fi, which was very good. We were able to stream (2) TVs plus computers. Good T-Mobile signal outside the campground, though. Site #10 was long enough for my 38' 5th wheel, tow truck, and car park to park, but very narrow. Only wide enough for the RV with the stairs down. But Site #10 was the only narrow site. There’s a nice landscape between sites as well. Sites 1 through 5 are back-in and are down near the entrance. They have more space around them, but not as good of views of the mountains across the street, to the south. The pull-thru sites (6 through 12) are very close together but have plenty of space in the campsite to enjoy the fire pit (except for site #10). All sites have crushed stones and are fairly level with a firepit (except Site #10, which is too narrow). 50Amp power was good, no issues. The water pressure was great, and the sewer was fine, too. The campground is on a well, so if you lose power, you lose water. It's a little strange not having an office. But when I did have a question, I left a VM (or you can text to that same number), and I received a response quickly. The campground manager is on-site but seems to only handle reservations, respond to issues and requests, and no maintenance person on-site. The Camp Lodge has free coffee (Keurig), TV, and some games to play. There are a couple of comfortable chairs too. But it’s a little creepy in there with all the stuffed animals hanging on the walls. There are security cameras throughout the campground, even in the Lodge. They have firewood for sale at the lodge, too. It’s a very quiet area with great hiking and fly fishing just down the road at Pisgah National Forest or DuPont State Recreational Forest. Brevard is a quaint little town just 20 minutes away. Hendersonville and Asheville are nearby, too. Lots of restaurants and shopping all nearby. I’d stay again.

My wife and I recently stayed here for 6 weeks, and we had a nearly perfect stay!! Margaret was incredibly accommodating and very helpful with coordinating our arrival/ departure. The campground is cozy, clean, quiet, and extremely conveniently located. We were very pleased with the way receiving packages/mail was handled. We also appreciated the picnic table and fire ring provided for every site, with $4 bundles of wood available on the grounds. The only downside we found to camping here is the lack of a laundry facility. Overall, we loved our time here!!
